Why did the 10 other players know which way the play was going? You think Coach O huddled those 10 up and told #5 he wasn't allowed to hear the play?

No.

If you recall, he ran onto the field pumping up the crowd and clearly got lost in the moment.

YEAH! What he said!!

all those guys are either in their first big contract at a big school or as a HC or were at one point disgraced.

Hold up, when you say DW are you referring to Darrel Williams?
yes the guy who is physical and doesn't turn the ball over. Who is a tough inside runner that you needed on the goal line. Saban and Miles would have left Guice on the bench in that case. Seen that play out many times.

It's remarkable. I quit this board nearly six years ago because of its toxic nature and I decided to come back just to gauge the fanbase's reaction to the new hire yesterday. To (not) my surprise, it's the same douches still here bitching and moaning.

IF LSU had won vs Florida, would you be nearly as upset about hiring Coach O?

yes i would absolutely still be this upset.

Now ask yourself: Did Coach O lose us the game vs Florida?
Was he the one who botched the hold on a field goal?
Was he the one who went the wrong way on the last play?

we had three plays inside the 10 yard line prior to each of these two plays and we did not get into the end zone. People only remember the last play, when what leads to that last play is every bit as crucial as the play itself.
a TD on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd downs on either of these two drives makes every other play you list irrelevant.

Bama averages winning games 40-11... We lost 10-0, and played them tougher than any team in America. With a bit more creativity in the offensive play calling, we likely win that game. A new offensive coordinator will bring that creativity.

Les Miles' last 4 losses to Alabama have been by an average of 11 pts.
including one that went into overtime.
with a bit more offensive creativity in those games, we likely win.

it is by no means the worst hire in the world

that won't be known until we see results of the hire.
but you can make a legit argument that the process that lead to this hire is in the discussion for worst in the SC in the last 20 years or so.

Well researched, and well written. UF game was a classic 'everything that can go wrong, did go wrong'... and we were still 1 yd from winning. Just didn't work out that day. IRT Bama, well no one, NO ONE, is going to play them better than 10-0, and hold them scoreless midway into the 4th qtr.

I too am not satisfied with the CEO hire, but I'm happy. I think the positives far outweigh the negatives from bringing in a 2d tier guy from a 2d tier program (AKA UNC, WVU, etc).

CEO knows the SEC, and specifically the SEC W. He knows how we need to recruit, build/maintain a staff and facilities, and scheme/coach to be successful. Together with his staff we are going to be just fine. I look fwd to see how he closes out this rec cycle, and how we line up next spring.

I'm not saying that. What I'm saying is whatever school he would have been given the chance to be a head coach at he should be given the chance.

Don't care if it's LSU or NorthTexas. Let the man do his job with support and for the live of LSU. It's not like you or I can change it. So what's the use in complaining about it.

My God...

So if you were the coach you would bring in the third string RB who, while a great player, is not nearly as good as Guice or Leonard.

gotcha..

Did you even WATCH THE GAME? Fournette was out. Guice ducked up on the first fumble and on the carries near the goal line on the second drive he was expected to get the ball and we fell short.
My point is there was a freaking time out on a fourth and goal from the 1 foot line and he went the wrong way! As I mentioned BOTH MILES and Saban would have benched his arse for the fumble and likely not have had him in there due to trust in that moment. WTF dude. You're a freaking idiot.

One HUGE problem with the OP, and most of this idiotic false apparently.

These past 7 games should have very little to do with whether O got the job or not. Like it or not, les miles built this team, O came in and beat the Crap teams, loss to the good teams. Nothing that les wouldn't have done.

Look at the full resume guys.

Say you've got an interview Fri be CEO of Google. You walk in there and say "yeah my resume is pretty much horruble, except for the last 3 months I have done okay with someone else's employees". Its ridiculous.

Lsu is a top 5 job. The HC should not be someone that we THINK has improved based on a small sample size, that he was handed on a silver platter.

This is the dumbest shite ever. Congrats.
