Send it to Jay. He will appreciate you taking that task off his hands and giving him more time to work on bunting.

Hurd should pitch Friday against Tulane. We have to to have him pitch well at some point during the weekend to win the regional. Statistically Tulane will be the worst team we face all weekend. So it’s better to give him that matchup than Sam or OSU on Sunday night.

So you think OSU or Sam are beating Skenes? If not then you think their #4 is beating Floyd and then out slugging is in a Johnny Wholestaff situation for both teams.

Hurd is better fit to pitch against Tulane where he can continue to build on the confidence he has gained lately. He should overwhelm them easily even without his best stuff as long as he's throwing strikes. Hurd has potential to be an ace so if he's throwing his best stuff Tulane has no chance.

F!oyd is not pitching against Tulane. Probably Hurd. I would be fine starting any of our midweek guys Friday, but doubt we do it. Cooper or Money would get us 4/5 innings while only giving up 2 or 3 runs. We will surely score plenty Friday.

That’s dumb.

If Hurd wins, and the Skenes you are going to war against a depleted 2 seed with Floyd and probably at least 2 of Coleman, Herring, Gilbert and Cooper.

Or LSU beats Oregon St twice in a row because LSU has a better offense and Skenes and Floyd are better than Oregon St’s #2 and #4 starters.

You have to use Hurd Fri
Now if you get a big lead and can pull him and save him for possible relief appearance later on than do it

We are better with Tre in the outfield. His jumps and routes aren’t great but he makes up for it with his athleticism and ball skills.

Jobert should DH. Move Beloso to 1B. I’d also move Beloso up in the order, he’s been the best 5-hole hitter most of 2023

What else is he going to say? Crews is only batting lead off to mix it up a bit so they can get him out of his slump. I’m not sure that sticks

I’m not sure that we’re ready to trust Hurd in game one yet. I’d trust Javen over Hurd to start the first game right now. Save Hurd for an emergency game or out of the bullpen Imo

Dugas 2B
Morgan 1B
Crews CF
White 3B
Travinski C
Beloso DH
Jobert LF
Thompson SS
Pearson RF

I’d start Trav at catcher each game so he and Beloso can both be in the lineup. Find opportunities to give him rest if we’re up big late.

Pitching: just make sure Skenes goes against the Beavers.

Gotta throw Ackenhausen and Cooper in there.

I do love if it works out that way.
Need Money to give you 5-6 innings Friday. Depending on lead you could go to Collins, Dutton, Little to close. I’m talking 10+ runs. Lol.

Rest of weekend would set up nice with Skenes going 6-7 and closing with Ack, Guidry.
Floyd Herring Hurd FTW on Sunday

Coleman could be your game 4 starter if needed.

7 of the last 8 appearances for Hurd have been good. The one bad one was very, very bad, but I don’t think Johnson would let it get that bad in the postseason. He’s given a 7 ER in 19.2 IP in those 7 outings for a 3.20 ERA. With the bad outing, it’s still 5.49 over the last 8.

Coleman has only 7 appearances total with an ERA of 6.75. 3 of the 7 appearances weren’t very good, though none as bad as the one bad Hurd recent appearance. He’s also not lasted more than 3 IP compared to Hurd’s two consecutive outings of 5+. I’m not sure why you would conclude Coleman is more trustworthy.

Johnson tried that against Georgia and it was a major contributor to the Game 3 loss.

I don't see Jay moving from Milazzo catching Skenes and Trav catching Floyd.

I’m just so done with Milazzo. His defense has suffered this year and he still can’t bunt
