Here is the staff we need

Lane Kiffin HC...pay the man $15+ million per year with incentives. Each time he trolls another SEC team fanbase on social media, he gets a $10K bonus.

Eric Morris OC....pay the man $2 or 3 million a year to dig our offense out of this hole

Keep Baker as DC, with stipulations that his arse can be gone if he can't figure out a running QB

CEO as DL coach and Brand Ambassador...just let him have his choice of blonde Coeds as compensation

John Papuchis ST Coordinator...pay the man $900K

There. It's decided
I actually feel like when he took the job, in his mind he was the greatest coach in the world based on his results with ND and how he was hamstrung with higher recruiting standards. All he needed was better talent and he thought that was the key at LSU. You still have to coach. Maybe harder because even though these kids are gifted athletically, they still need discipline, structure and reinforcement. It is constant coaching on the field and off, being there for them (he was disconnected and distant), and on their arse one minute, hugging them the next. Watch Saban coach during a game or practice. Watch Kirby Smart coach. BK stood there talking to his assistants on his headset with the occasional outburst on the sideline to a player. Yeah, he was surprised. Surprised he still had to work, and maybe even harder, to earn that championship in the SEC.

re: Offense profile vs Ark

I was at the game myself. My takeaways:

The last scoring/winning drive was 80% trick play. I am glad we got creative, but why did we have to resort to that against the worst defense in the SEC. It worked though, and would Sloan have done it?

On the last TD, MVB had a wide open running lane for a first down and I am screaming RUN! He had the field presence to pull up and hit Sharp with a perfect pass in the corner.

Harlem Berry wears 22 and reminds me of a young Emmit Smith with his running style. Get him a good OL and he will be great.

It was a win, but Arky's ineptness saved us. Turnovers, penalties and a shanked FG attempt won us the game. We did what we had to do to take advantage though

Our absolute lack of production inside the redzone and 3rd and short is pathetic. Goes back to OL and not being able dominate the man across the line from you.

PA guy...stop playing over the band! Get off my lawn....LOL

Saban theoretical

Let's just say for shits and giggles, that Saban throws his name out there. Would we actually want him? Would he be able to handle NIL, Woodward, Landry and the fans before he says frick it after a year? I know...first loves are tough to say no to, but I am thinking let's not. Now, I would vote for him for AD in a heartbeat.
I keep saying Arkansas needs a young "up and comer" that can light a fire under the fan base, raise money for NIL (get WM and Tyson on board) and be innovative on offense simply because Arkansas is not going to get the talent like Bama, LSU or UGA does consistently. Now...they can get talent level comparable to Ole Miss and Vandy and look at what they are doing with the right coach. Bobby isn't it I am afraid.
Was Saban a "fit" when he was hired? Not really, but you see the results.

Playoffs out of reach?

Posted by EauxZark Tiger on 10/19/25 at 10:24 am
I think we will see a 9-3 team in the playoffs this year with the new strength of record metric that takes into account schedule and quality losses. With that said, it will not be LSU that makes it at 9-3. However, if somehow BK rallies this team and finishes 10-2, are we back in his corner? We didn't lose to "bad" teams, just programs we didn't normally lose to in the past. I know everyone is pissed because we had a very legitimate chance to win those games, and should have with LSU's talent. But would a playoff spot heal the wounds? Or just piss us off more after we get beat in the first round.

Yes, but that was 20 years ago. I am talking about now.

Coaching "fit" discussion

Posted by EauxZark Tiger on 10/12/25 at 10:54 pm
Does regionality really make a difference in a head coach being a good fit for a job? With PSU now open, there is discussion that BK would be a better fit there than here, simply because he is from the Northeast. Other candidates that are in the discussion, such as Cignetti and Rhule, are said to be a good fit because of where they came from and coach now. Lashlee is a good ole Southern boy and he's mentioned, but not seriously since he's "not from the North". Look at Orgeron and what he did here, and yes, he did catch lightning in a bottle, but I am almost certain BK would have screwed that up. LOL....
Six plays, split veer. It's like Novacaine
So does OM have an offensive scheme that FORCES him into coverage? Or was it our idea to drop him back?

Backup QB's vs LSU defense

Posted by EauxZark Tiger on 9/28/25 at 1:14 pm
Anybody want to talk about the fact our DC can't seem to prepare for a backup QB? Reed (freshman) from aTm last year and Chambliss from Ole Piss this year, who was playing DivII last year. Maybe OUR HC should take note and bench the starting QB and see what happens on offense.

Uhh...well I wouldn't trust that Les actually knew how much time was left in the 4th quarter of any game, especially with us in possession.
1.McFadden/Hillis/Jones from Arkansas.
2. War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock twice, frick that place. We have always had bad luck in that dump
3. Any loss to the Hogs
4. The refs anytime we played Bama
5. The refs in the 28 overtime game against aTm
I don't care if they are all in separate rooms, just be on the same damn page on game day and know how to stop a running QB!
Do you remember that the game was moved due to Katrina and ASU painted the field for LSU and also raised money for Katrina victims?
So in today's world with review, would Doucet's game winning TD catch be overturned?

There is no worse spot to be in than Notre Dame football or Florida State baseball or Kentucky basketball where you’re consistently great but your ceiling is just below championship. You might as well be in the college athletics cuck chair watching the rival that bullies you on a yearly basis take your silver and gold woman.

You just described Arkansas Baseball and LSU (the rival) in the CWS this year.

OK...I'll wait until 6 pm on Sunday from now on, after I read the rant for awhile
