2000 Tennessee gets a lot of love coming off of the loss to UAB the week before and starting to right the ship...
Later in the season though the home game against Miss State gets forgotten. Unranked LSU hosting #13 MSU.
LSU finds itself down 31 - 17 in 2nd half and rallies to win in overtime. Crowd wouldn't let the Tigers lose that night and kept the positive momentum of Saban's first year rolling.

I just remember the times of unspeakable darkness and Herb Tyler’s stellar performance in that win vs UF. It was the start of coming out of that dark period.

1974 vs UTenn 20-10, our lifetime series record vs UTenn is pretty dismal. This was only our second win in series history. The '74 season was a huge disappointment but it did have this jewel.
2017 vs Auburn 27-23 win. We had already lost via blowout to State and Troy. We were down 0-17 in the 1st and 0-20 in the early second. Great punt return from Chark. LSU-Auburn 2017 Highlights

This has to be the one - if we don't come back, the wheels come off and we spiral to a 4-8/3-9 season. Burreaux goes somewhere else and there's no 2019.

Also I remember both teams running the ball all over the field. Crowd was electric, fun times.

That’s over-dramatic. LSU rebounded after the Troy loss to win at Florida. After the Auburn game LSU had Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and A&M on the schedule. None of those teams, except for Alabama, were very good. LSU would have likely finished 8-4 instead of 9-3. Burrow still would have come to LSU because he was a largely unknown and totally unproven QB looking for a place to start with VERY limited options at which to do so. Given his other choice was an AAC team coming off a 4-8 season I’d bet he still chooses LSU even if they had an extra loss or two in 2017
I would say 2018 vs Georgia was a very underrated win because it’s a game not many talk about. LSU was coming off a loss to Florida vs. the #2 team. That game had the most visiting fans I’ve ever seen at an LSU home game. It wasn’t quite the Homefield advantage LSU is used to. Not only did LSU win, but they dominated the game.

I think you're thinking of vs UTenn in '01 and Kelley Washington in Knoxville.
FTR, Hookfin went on to become a pretty reliable CB.

Blowing out Miami in Dallas to start 2018 was quite satisfying. I found their fans to be pretty full of themselves, and I’ve interacted with a lot of fan bases.

I was in the student section and it was an epic win. You started to see glimpses of what LSU could become (on offense at least) under Saban.
