2011 while Jarrett Lee drove the truck

1997. After suffering through the dark ages of Bill Arnsparger, Mike Archer, and Curley Hallman, Gerry DiNardo shows up and proved that LSU could be a good team and then punctuated in 1997 by beating #1 Florida. That season also saw us finish in the top 25 and get to a real actual bowl game for the third year running. It was the spark that led to the golden age of LSU football.
It was a fast fall from that season, though, and the spark damn near died before Mark Emmert told Joe Dean "You WILL hire this Saban guy!" and the golden age really kicked off.

Even with the unpleasant boycott and mulligan endings, '69 as a boy, and '11 as an adult.

2007 hands down. There’s no other season in college football like it.

My memory that far back is sketchy, but was is Earl Gros or Charley Cranford that used to be in on the goalline push, that would vault over the line into the endzone?
My memory is a little suspect, but both of those players were tough as nails. I seem to recall that Gros would hit the line full speed and push ahead while Cranford may have had more leaping ability. It could be vice versa though.

1987 was lots of fun, til that Bama game.
Mickey Guidry played as well as he could, but he was no Hodson. That guy was the greatest LSU QB (except for Bert Jones, of course). I saw Hodson thread the needle on so many "impossible" passes. He was a baller.

quote:1982 - I was a young Tiger fan. Destroying FSU "Oranges game" was epic. Heartbreaking losses to end the season though.
What season did you have the most fun watching tiger football? May not even necessarily be the best season, just one you enjoyed personally
2000 - As mentioned previously. The UT game after UAB loss was epic. Beating Alabama in TS when refs tried to give the ball to Bama, etc.
2003 - My all time favorite season. As King of New Orleans said, "The UGA game that year is still my favorite Tiger Stadium memory." The chants of LSU during timeout after UGA tied scored with the 90+ yard screen pass was amazing to be a part of. I member the build up that season well too, fans slowly realized this is a damn special team. Even after the UF loss, we were tailgaiting after game and we all felt it was just a hiccup.
2011 - Fun as can be. Until.

2001. I got to go to most of the games, including both post-season games, and the team was a huge surprise after the Florida blowout.

2013 was fun as a student. I didn't realize at the time how lucky I was to witness that collection of talent on the field.

07’ I know we had the 2 OT losses but that season was insane with every weekend having major upsets leaving tons on the line most weekends..
Rohan to Reed was exciting as well.

2011 because I went to every game except the NC. Those road games were awesome sans the WV game.

Ohio State and those arrogant fans
Yea and they were all convinced their team would destroy LSU.
It really surprised me they turned out so well in New Orleans. In earlier games the Tigers played there, the previous year vs Notre Dame, 2004 vs Oklahoma and 2002 vs Illinois, the visitors didn't bring a large contingent of fans. Ohio State was different. They had 50% of the fans at the game, and they were LOUD.

Probably 1988, my freshmen year. The team was good, not great, the student section was a blast, and the Earthquake game made the season. It was a good time to be a fan.
It almost, but not quite, made up for the next 6 years.
