Or maybe it’s because Miami’s defense ranked 75th in Opp 3rd down conversion % Keep trying to spin it! Fact is you guys “strength” is no better than most of the teams we play every year. The same cannot be said for Miami vs LSUs D

Any Miami fan will tell you we need to improve on 3rd down on both sides of the ball. It’s a combination of things like i said. Yes 3rd down defense wasn’t the best but Miami’s offense on 3rd down was terrible for a team ranked in the top 10 for most of the season which is why the time of possession in most games were so lopsided.

You’re still only factoring in total yards and not yards per play.
Total rushing yards- Advantage LSU
Yards per carry- Advantage Miami
Passing yards- Advantage LSU
Yards per attempt- Advantage Miami
Sacks- Advantage Miami
TFL- Advantage Miami
Turnovers- Advantage Miami

SEC teams play slower on offense which causes less plays for the defense. So total yards is simply a lazy way to compare defenses.

Exactly also Miami being top 10 in yards per play given up in the country

So you get upset that Miami fans are upset that we said their players aren’t good? Then you go and get upset that they said our new players aren’t good? I don’t see how you can criticize them if you just repeat what they do

I'm pumped for this game. The truth will be revealed very soon. I'm sure it will be a great game from both sides.

27-17 LSU.

They will get to meet the Giles/Jefferson/Marshall/Chase
apparently, this crew sucked badly in the scrimmage. the wr crew has had trouble getting open the last couple of years which affected how the offense could gameplan

There's no denying lsu has talent but the same can be said about us. If this game were just based on roster talent it would be a coin flip. This game will come down to coaching and I'm taking Richt over farmer Fran 10 out of 10.

Shots fired lol

LSU could get blown out by Miami and still end up in the NC game.

If you don’t think winning the SEC and beating Auburn, Bama, and UGA (likely twice) along the way would put LSU in the playoff, you’re delusional.

Do I think it’ll happen? No. But it’s stupid to think our season would be meaningless after a loss in the opener.

The canes on the other hand would most certainly be hurt by a loss. Losing to an overrated LSU team, a HC with a bad history at OM, first time starting QB, no name OC and no RBs.

Their players would be devastated along with their fans. I mean this story line has been passed along all offseason by the media and more so I know their fans and players actually believe this team SUCKS now!

Thanks ESPN!

You realize LSU only played 811 plays on defense while Miami played 989 plays right ?

I'm good with our offense being on the field for more plays than their offense.

Went on their board a little while ago to see what the chatter was all about, and they can’t get over how we called the middle of their defense “questionable” and their skill players “pedestrian.”

they have like 200 fans. I'm sure all their panties are wadded

No moron. We play 5 teams in the top 10. On the contrary if Miami loses then start looking towards 2019. That’s what happens when you’re schedule is comparable to a D2 school. GET OFF AN LSU PAGE GET A LIFE.

LSU defense averaged defending 64 plays a game while Miami defended 76 plays per game so of course they will give up a few more yards. Miami was top 10 in yards per play in the country This is why yards per game is such a flawed statistic Miami rush defense 541 attempts 1895 yards 3.50 ypc 10 tds allowed 145 yards per game LSU rush defense 433 attempts 1669 yards 3.85 ypc 16 tds allowed 128 yards per game Miami also gave up less yards per pass attempt than LSU as well and the only reason why our passing defense was ranked that is because how many more passing plays we defended. Y’all got to be objective, it’s much deeper than yards given up rushing/passing per game. Teams who defend more plays of course will give up more yards overall but look at the per attempt ranking which is lower than LSU in passing yards given up per attempt as well as rushing yards

What does LAST YEARs Stats have to do with this year?

Yall lose by 2 scores, lady

While it would be great to beat LSU it has zero effect on our goal which is to get back to the ACCCG.
