And if he plays D also will be a huge plus. It's almost as if having more NIL money is paying off. Go figure. Hope his game translates to SEC but love the size. Can't wait to see them play with an actual PG and hopefully Givens continues to improve and mature and step in when ready.

Kid from UNLV was a good pickup, this one is just meh. This year’s Bailey.

We had the #12 rated portal class last year and it didnt translate to wins.

Sears averaged 23.1ppg and OVCPOY- got in the SEC dropped to 8.6ppg that’s a 66% drop and lost his starting job. He was a volume shooter and when you get those quick Guards in the SEC real basketball sets in.
Sears actual height is probably 5'8 and he didn't have the speed to get around most defenders. He struggled getting consistent open looks. The player signed today is 6'6 and is more of a slasher.

HIs 3 point shooting percentage is concerning. He also does not seem to elevate off the floor (not springy). I hope he's all SEC but the IDK if what I saw on that highlight reel translates to elite SEC play. Hope I'm wrong

The Wadeophiles want McMahon to fail.
Most have delusions that Wade is going to return to LSU. He's not, and he never was.
I hope Wade gets NC State to the Final Four next year so these annoying turds will implode (and hopefully go away).

Johnny Jones ain't coming back to LSU either.

Again, I think he's a fine pickup for the bench, we still got 3 more transfers to go here, so McMahon can still find 2 more starters I think there.
I would be more concerned if we pick up 3 more guys and this guy is a starter at that point.

Sears was affected by big physical SEC guards. This guy is big and physical and not just an outside shooter. He’s a scorer which I like. Will see if it transfers to SEC. It love the size and the fact that he plays defense.

What he’s trying to say is that he doesn’t particularly like to take showers with other men but he will if the feeling is right.

He had a 0.0 DBPM and 104 DRtg, these ranked 5th/4th on his own team. Thats an average defender. He basically doesnt affect the game positively or negatively on defense.
People always run to assume because a tall/lanky guard is a good defender simply because of their size. Defense is about mentality and then athleticism.

For Context:
Last years portal grades from 24/7
Dji Bailey 79
Cam Carter 91
Jordan Sears 93
This year so far:

So the Dji Bailey replacement.
Posted on 4/2/25 at 12:18 pm to Primeminister337
Hell yeah. Bro another guard lol! Which means another year of running 4 guards and no big men over 6’10

The people complaining about his shooting percentage are the same ones that cried about Vyctorious Miller leaving btw

I wouldn't put much stock into that On3 ranking. Even they admit their rankings for the transfer portal was incredibly funky prior to this offseason. They only recognized one transfer in their ranking system for example, even though we had two. Cam Carter never even received a transfer ranking. Aside from Cam, Bailey was ranked #255 and Sears was ranked #114 in their player rankings. That's definitely not #12 class material. 247 had that class ranked #65
As an aside, Cam was ranked the #148 transfer by 247 and the #80 by Rivals.
