Some people are actually still holding out hope that Wade comes back though. Those people are just asking to be disappointed, bc it isn't happening.
Anyone keeping hope alive about this is a glutton for disappointment and misery.

Yeah that 30 Jan SOS of 215/362 is impressive as heck...
LSU is 70th FWIW.

At best they get an 11 seed. I think they have room for a loss or 2 in the season and still get a 13 or so. But if they don’t win their tournament they won’t get in. End of story. Should they win the tournament…absolutely but it won’t be a cake walk. There’s 1-2 other competitive teams they’ll have to get by. It helps that I think the conference tournament is played in Lake Charles so they’ll have home court help.

What about VCU, Texas A&M-CC and Michigan, all on the road? That's pretty impressive and should get them in as an at-large if they don't win their conf tournament
Michigan is 101 in the NET, Texas AM CC is 201, and VCU is 89. 2 Q2 road wins and a Q4 road win is not going to bump them up to an at-large. Their current NET is outside getting an at-large bid right now with those wins. Their NET is only going to get worse with their remaining schedule being so bad

He's not coming back to LSU, give it up and go be a McNeese fan!

Reading the NOA, the allegations were just derivatives of one allegation that had already been investigated and cleared.
I’m sorry, if that’s true, why was he suspended for 10 games & give a two-year show cause?
Doesn’t sound like he was “cleared” of anything.

According to the IRP, Wade "committed multiple violations, including failing to report potential NCAA violations, providing impermissible cash payments to impede disclosure of information of potential NCAA violations in contradiction to NCAA unethical conduct legislation, and failing to cooperate with the infractions investigation. The hearing panel also found that the former head men's basketball coach violated the head coach responsibility rules by failing to promote an atmosphere of compliance within the men's basketball program."

Is he coaching this year or not? Doesn’t look like the NCAA stopped McNeese from hiring him.
So we can conclude he could still be the coach at LSU.

Btw his show cause penalty isn’t up until 2025. No program is touching him until then.
I wouldn't go that far. If hired by someone else he would have to, again, serve a 10 game suspension. There would also be recruiting restrictions still in place for one season. But I suspect many teams would be willing to eat that one season of sanctions if they think he could drastically improve their program. And with his performance this year he has done such twice now...at LSU and McNeese.
Wade is going to get interest.

That’s not how it works you think that means he was “cleared” of any wrongdoing?

The allegations were a derivative from the Smart investigation which was cleared. What the NCAA did was sanction Wade for “a lack of cooperative attitude” and “a failure to report a Potential violation” where assistant coach Armstrong allegedly “offered” to pay Smarts grandmother but didn’t and she says he never attempted to do that. They didn’t “catch” him doing anything so they hit him with some bullshite and a very overblown punishment. Wade’s suing and we’ll see what turns up but it’s obvious you have no idea what actually took place.

So they cleared him of the allegations regarding Javonte Smart. OK. That doesn’t mean he was cleared of everything.
He got handed a two-year show cause for a reason. Among many other allegations - He absolutely made illegal payments with his wife’s account, he was just lucky enough to get by the investigation.
quote:
was not cited for the most notorious charge against him: that he lured recruits with illicit payments.
Another formal complaint dismissed for insufficient evidence was that Wade directed payments from a bank account in his wife’s name to a friend of a recruit’s family, who in exchange would direct the prospect to L.S.U. But Wade successfully argued that because he was not an authorized user of the account that was jointly held by his wife and his mother, he could not compel them to turn the account records over to N.C.A.A. investigators.

You’re twisting and spinning. “He must have done something” isn’t evidence or proof, do you know how many coaches get hit with shite for basically no reason? When Jalen Suggs was in HS he was leaning towards Washington then all of the sudden Washington is under investigation for violations and he goes to Gonzaga only it turned out all the coach at Washington did was be in his office during voluntary workouts, a very minor violation. The NCAA is corrupt, grow up.

There’s no “twisting or spinning”. He got busted & was punished by McNeese when they hired him & then also by the NCAA.

Wade was punished mostly for lies, misleading statements and repeated delays in turning over documents in the investigation.

and yet here he is, roaming the McNeese St sidelines racking up wins, and bringing hope and energy to a fan base that has never had it.

Do people really think there's a chance Will Wade will come back to LSU? Has Wade ever expressed a desire to come back to LSU?
Posted on 1/30/24 at 2:10 pm to lsufball19
Yikes. Didn't realize Michigan and VCU were that weak. By comparison, LSU has wins over the #'s 44, 45, 57, and 69 teams, one on the road, one at home and two on neutral courts. If LSU can somehow get its a@@ together and start winning more games, then tournament talk could start up again
Posted on 1/30/24 at 2:19 pm to WaydownSouth
Play in at best IF they win the tournament. If not they don’t get a bid.

Busted for failing to report something that didn’t happen. You’re either an ignorant sheep or a dishonest person.
