NET of 62

Will probably end up as a 8-9 seed at this point.

Do whatever it takes to bring the general home.

You’re showing your ignorance.

They’re going to end up 20-0 against Q4 teams

Maybe Kelly could hire him since he’s getting the squad back together already

Currently a 12.

Not unreasonable to think they can’t move up to a 9 if they win out and some others lose

I don't see McNeese getting in as an at-large. The Southland is just too weak of a conference. That does not negate the remarkable job Wade has done. But when all you have left are games against opponents with 230 - 340 NET rankings there just aren't any chances for good wins. Such is life in a one-bid conference.

They’ve won 11 games the past couple years, he said in his introductory PC they’d win 23 games this year (which would be a school record), and they’ll actually probably win 30 games this year. Very impressive turnaround in no time at all

They won't end up a 8-9 seed even if they win out the rest of the season.

NET of 62

and this is why. Their upcoming games are against the following with the corresponding NET rankings:

SLU 296
Texas AM Commerce 321
Texas AM Corpus 201
Houston Christian 344
Nicholls 242
Incarnate Word 334
Lamar 234
Nicholls 242
Houston Christian 344
UNO 341

It's going to be basically impossible for them to get a higher NET ranking even continuing to win all their games. That schedule is a joke. Not only will they not get an 8-9 seed, they'll have to win their conference tournament to get a bid. They currently have the 290th ranked SOS out of 362 teams, and the Southland is the 27th ranked conference out of 33 conferences

They will probably deserve a 12 at best but will end up getting a 13 or 14. They will be a tough draw though

The southland champ the last two seasons has played in the play-in game. It’s not a strong league

I'm convinced that some Wade fans on here would suck his dick if he asked them to.

Its extremely impressive what Wade has done in a short time at Mcneese. But anyone thinking that Mcneese is getting a 8/9 seed doesn't pay attention to college basketball as a whole. The 12th seed projection for Mcneese is WITH the assumption that they win out and win their conference tournament. The issue that Mcneese has (not through any fault of their own) is that their conference provides no help in the net rankings. You really can't improve your net ranking because its a bunch of quad 4 teams. You have to win the conference tournament and get an automatic bid, you are not going to get it as an at large team because that would assume you have a loss to a team in the conf tourney and quite frankly losing to any team in the conference will tank your ranking. Its a very thin line that they have to walk and unfortunately there is no margin for error.

Btw his show cause penalty isn’t up until 2025. No program is touching him until then.

Auburn waited until Pearl had 5 months left before hiring him

Agreed. The Southland is just an incredibly weak conference. Currently the 27th NET ranked conference (out of 33 conferences). And that's ONLY because McNeese is propping it up big time. The next highest ranked (NET) team is Texas A&M-CC at 201.

For a little bit of context, McMahon's 2022 Murray St. team was a 7th seed as a 27-3 winner of the OVC (a much better conference at that time). I think the absolute highest McNeese could get if they win out is a 10 seed. Nevertheless, that would be a REMARKABLE accomplishment. Particularly in just a one-season turnaround for a program who has not been to the NCAAT in over 20 years and hasn't had a winning season in a decade.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But to ignore just how good of a job he has done at McNeese is absurd. It's arguably the biggest one season turnaround in all of college basketball this season.

IMO, they need to win the SLC tourney and get the automatic bid. An awesome regular season and losing in their conf tournament won't get McN in the big dance. Every year there's a G5 school that finishes the season with a 30-3 record. They get snubbed by the committee for not winning their conference tournament.
