What is also true: you assholes who think everyone needs to eat crow and won't just let people come around on CMM are insufferable and are taking AWAY from what the Bball team has accomplished thus far. Instead of talking about how great we are playing and praising the players, you guys are trying to make the board a mud fight.
The Wade Brigade absolutely need to eat crow, as they turned every positive basketball thread into a cesspool over the last 2 years. They wanted to fire McMahon every step of the way and couldn't understand the building process because they are so basketball illiterate.
That may not be you, and doesn't include everyone who liked WW at some level, but many many posters were absolutely miserable and trashed the program and players the whole way.

Well the McMen are turning threads THIS year into a cesspool. If someone shits on our winning team, we should all shout them down but yall keep derailing threads talking about how good we have played to talk about WW unprompted. Its ridiculous.

A little payback is called for. And it helps that McNeese is 4-4 so far this season.
But LSU is a very fun team to watch this year on their own. I love seeing the success that Collins is having after such a rough start to his college career. A great story.

47 combined points from Sears and Carter last night too…
Love to see it, very important come March.

This is what I am talking about. Yall are just as bad as the Wade Brigade. If they are the Klan, yall are Antifa. Both groups suck and make the world a worse place, they just sit on opposite sides of the aisle.

To be quite honest I was on the Wade Wagon late year when McNeese surged. Couldn't believe that team deflated in the Big Dance

There is a new tGeneral in town

The good news, we have more talent than we've had in years. Skilled players who can make plays.
The bad news is, it seems as if the Conference is stronger than its been in years.

Naw, he was 2-16 his first year in conference . There were several post that said he is trash and we will never win. So anything he does from here out doesn’t matter. I get down votes when I mention this from time to time. I guess year one was a shite show but I want those who posted he would never win here to step forward and give a take now on the program .

You know there isn't much buzz around the football team when McMahon fans are raving over a squad that is currently 63 in the NET.
Every major analytic outlet is predicting LSU basketball to finish only ahead of South Carolina and Vandy in the conference standings.
When LSU gets a victory over a top 25 opponent I'll be here to say I was pleasantly surprised.
LSU was predicted to win last night. They covered the spread, but stop celebrating like McMahon just advanced to the Sweet 16. It's comical....

Foreign concept for here, I know, but it doesn't have to be an either/or situation.
You can acknowledge that the first 7 games this season have been a step in the right direction relative to the prior two seasons. You can also acknowledge that even though this probably isn't a great, maybe even good, FSU team, LSU was able overcome adversity (losing their top frontcourt player less than 2 minutes into the game) AND improve on their biggest weakness (turnovers) against a team whose biggest strength was forcing turnovers. But one can also acknowledge beating a (likely) average FSU team at home doesn't cement this team/program is on the path to greatness just yet.

McMahon is a much better X’s and O’s Guy than Wade. Like it or not he can Coach!
Im happy basketball is not an embarrassment anymore, but all this gaslighting is annoying af.
Wade had multiple teams in the top 10 of offensive efficiency and had a team finish top 10 in defensive efficiency as well.

I was wondering why the board wasn't being spammed every 5 minutes with a "I miss will Wade" thread

Instead its being spammed by WW sucks posts which is so much better...

Point and case is that majority of the 'CMM has this team playing at a high level" thread is about WW.
WTF. Lets talk about our team and our coach. Not our ex or the few scorned lovers that haven't gotten over our ex.

Honestly, I'm just enjoying watching them play. They are fun to watch, especially when they are behind at the half....I believe they are 5-0 in that circumstance.

Finally a response that actually makes sense. I can agree with everything you said.

Yes people pined for CWW when we were losing but that seems natural when a school gets rid of a winning coach regardless of reasoning. For 99.9% of people, that didn't mean they didn't want CMM to win. I am sure there is a poster or 2 that fits the above mold but its not wide spread at all.
Revisionist history. At least half the board quit on McMahon after year 1. Now I don’t blame anyone for being upset at the way things went down with WW…
But from year 2 through now, people really paying attention have all been saying this program is trending up & that the dude has got the goods.
There have been a significant portion of posters who saw the record & hated on McMahon out of pure spite over what happened to WW + because it was the cool thing to do.
Everyone who held the line & stanned McMahon during that period deserves a year of “I told you so” + everyone who tuned out & talked shite deserves a year of eating crow.
After that, everyone moves on. I welcome the haters back to the party, and I’m not calling out individuals — but y’all must be crazy if you think we’re going to let ppl just outright say none of it ever happened lol.

If you have any basketball IQ (which I understand is rare around here) you can't deny that this program has made strides. There is a different type of athlete on this team then there has been on MM previous two teams. Gone are the days of Will Baker plodding up and down the court looking for a trailing 3. Finally have a backcourt that can create for themselves and score at a decent rate. A legit rim protector in Collins (4 blocks last night off the bench) which this program hasn't had since KBW. Solid post presence from a 3rd year program guy in Reed who has done nothing but improve every year he's been here (rest up big fella)
If you want to talk recruiting, MM brought in a plug and play scorer in Vyctorious Miller, Givens who has shown flashes of being a solid true 1, and Robert Miller who has shown to be raw, but nonetheless active on the defensive side with a frame that will certainly be filled out in an off-season strength program.
MM is putting his guys in a position to get their shot. Great example was the Sears corner 3 off an elevator screen coming out a TO early in the 2nd half. Beautiful design and execution. Didnt see it last night obviosuly but they've made a concentrated effort to get Reed isolated on the left block where he has show to be the most comfortable (baby hook to the right, or more often than not, just bullying his man into a drop step on the left where he can use the rim as protection for a reverse). If you actually know basketball and can comprehend what is going on on the floor, you can't help but be a bit bullish about what is cooking right now in the PMAC, especially considering where this program was 24 months ago
