Total strawman arguments with no basis in fact. You can argue anything if all you have to do is say "I was told" when you really weren't told anything.

That is like bullshite man. LSU signed five defensive tackles. Two moved to Oline leaving three DT's - all redshirted. One or both that were moved to offense can move back if needed.

So still only 3 DT’s from last year? If the two that switched to offense, have to switch back to defense then that is not gonna be a good thing. OLineman being relied on for DT depth is cause for concern.

Remember when Lacoutre and Godchaux had to play the entire game all season a few years ago?

There is A LOT more depth now. Granted we are a little short on elite talent relative to Alabama, but we are nonetheless light years ahead of where we were. Progress...

We’re both supposed to believe the OL is talented and Deep because Rosenthal and Hines are there and that the DL is talented and Deep because Eosenthal and Hines are there.

Weee gonna need transfers and JUCO next year to bridge the gap.

Or, actually see how some of the younger guys develop before jumping to conclusions, just saying...

Those are the younger players. My point is they can’t be the future at both position.

They ain’t going both ways.

You mentioned JUST 2 young guys, not all of them.

Bama signed 8 elite DL in 2019. We signed 1. 2020 depth at DL will be bad. We signed 1 DL in 2018. Bama signed a bunch again.

2020 DL will be:
Davin Cotton
Neil Farrell
Tyler Shelvin
Siapu Ika
Nelson Jenkins
Dominic Livingston
Joseph Evans
Justin Thomas
Soni Fonua
Michael Williams
Glen Logan (if he stays for SR YR)

That's 11 DE/DTs. We have 2 committed 2020 DTs, but I don't think they should be counted this early. We needed to do better with SDE and DT recruiting, but the cupboard isn't empty. I agree that we need to do better with attracting elite level DTs.

He's a nice bonus but he's still a guy we didn't deem worth serious consideration just 12 months ago.

I don't know how you can say that when LSU offered him and gave him an official. LINK

He might not have been a priority, and that may be why he went to Texas, but he is certainly someone who LSU wants on its roster.

Not counting Logan, that's three 4* guys and the rest 3*.

Doesn't cut it if you want to compete for championships.

If LSU signs a very good Dline class next year this will not be a problem either.

An elite RB or WR can come into the college game and be dominant.

But a DL in the SEC composed of mostly freshman is a recipe for disaster.

He went to Texas because LSU told him they didn't have room.

If bencoleman is in the thread, this is what I mean by kicking the can down the road.

2019 class was supposed to be the class to make big moves on the d-line. We have some prospects with high ceiling (and low floor) but we did not get the top prospects that we targeted. You can't continue to say "no big deal, we'll take care of it next season" every season.

They can only play 3-5 at a time. Yes, they have a deeper depth chart/ But that assumes guys play to their potential at Bama and don't grow at LSU.

Overall, I'm really not concerned with our depth for this next season. We will definitely need to sign quite a few next year, though.

But he was "seriously considered" and he is part of the program without taking up space. This seems like a good thing to me.

Oklahoma made the playoff with one of the worst defenses I have ever seen. There’s not a set rule as to what competes for championships

How many 5* players do? How many all-americans can there be? Since when is that the only standard for quality players?

Yeah, with the best offense in the country by almost any measurement.

Gimme that and I’ll worry about DL depth less
