This.

Very impressed with what this staff has done in a short time period. Need to see that it equates to wins in the SEC before I'm completely sold on the last point.

Still very frustrating that we blew up the end of this season and the insane class we had coming in.

It will make many big mad but it is okay to Love Will Wade and have high hopes for Coach McMahon DAMMIT

We as a program needed Will Wade to energize and essentially save the program. What he did here was genuinely phenomenal given how few resources we put into basketball. It showed our fans and our admins see that we can actually compete in the SEC and be a consistent program. I'm all about that.

I am dying to fall in love with Coach McMahon. He seems extraordinarily likeable. Recruiting was a question mark because he has never done it at this big time level before. That question mark he has done a great job with early on here.

Will Wade help set the expectations for this program and I and every other fan hope with everything that McMahon blasts those expectations out of the water.

Keep up the work Coach McMahon DAMMIT

There's never been a better time to overhaul a roster/program. It's the wild west out there right now and there's no telling how long it will last. Woodward recognized this and is getting while the gettings good...new regimes for the 4 main sports in a years time.

Under the circumstances, if the players he signs are as good as their stars, then he has done a remarkable job.

I agree. That's why all of the apocalyptic doom and gloom predictions (ex: LSU wouldn't win a SEC game for the next 2 years) were absurd. In basketball especially, a coach can turnover nearly an entire roster in one offseason to dramatically change results from one year to the next. The one free transfer rule is a game changer in terms of the rebuilding process. Unfortunately, it can also make the rebuilding process a yearly requirement.

I think the bigger problem was the complete idiot morons that defended WW and his breaking of the rules. And GETTING CAUGHT
This coach is a better man, as well as a WAY better coach

I am an LSU basketball fan! Through all the coach changes from Dale Brown onward and all the up and down seasons, I have always supported the team. I liked Will Wade but I am over it and ready for a new season and a new coach. McMahon has come through with the recruits from a really bad position. He and the team he is assembling deserve all our support. I think that we will be a thorn in many a "better" team's side.

A good bit of people bring it up but he really got together a good staff.

Pretty impressive job so far.

Sadly, we live in a world where EVERY opinion seems to be grounded in baseless hyperbole.

It was always silly opine there was no rational basis whatsoever for LSU to fire Will Wade. I did not agree with the decision. However, there was clearly a rational basis for LSU to do so.

That said, McMahon has not coached a single game at LSU. Hell, he still only has 10 players on the roster. So to come out with the hyperbolic opinion that he is a better coach than Wade and will perform better is equally as silly. Perhaps it is just me, but I'd actually like to watch the guy coach a few seasons at LSU before making a determination that he is or is not a better HC than Wade.

He may come in and exceed Wade's 5 year performance. He also may flame out and be fired after 4-5 seasons like so many mid-major coaches in the past who made the jump to the SEC. But I'm not ready to set an unreasonable level of expectations for him or declare him great or bad without having seen him coach a single game for LSU.
