We don’t know that.
Coach O meddled to much to determine that.

Canada didn't suck as an OC but he apparently sucks as a person. Word is Aranda wanted him gone as well as O...and Aranda seems pretty easy to get along with.

The man understands his X's and O's (well maybe not the O) even if his personality grates on people.

IMO, he saw what he had to work with, put an offense in place that was our best attempt to beat Bama, and put building blocks in place for the future.

The fact that Ed could not appreciate this is a reflection on Orgeron, not Canada.

The passing game was still poor.

would you say the same thing if SE sees what he has to work with and puts an offense in place that is our best attempt (with RB and QB situation) to beat Bama but he doesn't?

Great question.

I'll respond along two lines:
1) Canada was much more proven as an OC than Steve is. Hence, I'm willing to give MC the benefit of the doubt that Steve has never earned.
2) Because Ed handcuffed him, I don't think.what MC envisioned was given a chance to mature. This seems corroborated by the bizarre handling of Brennan.

what are you basing that off of? All head coaches are going to have input into their defenses and offenses after all they are the head coach. Seems Canada was the one with the problem if he can't accept that. He needs to get a head coach job some where, even if on the high school level, because no where is he going to find a job as a coordinator that the head coach doesn't have any input.

Don't even joke about that. Please.

The problem with this is that supposedly MC was given autonomy which shows how dysfunctional the O to coordinator relationship is

Canada was fired because he was perceived as cancer on the coaching staff.

Well if Ed wasn't so lazy maybe this would been evident during interviews.

I would have liked to have seen him two more years at LSU. I bet we would be rocking with the young talent molded in his bald headed image.

There were a few plays, usually a shovel pass or something in the backfield, where we scored untouched and I was impressed. Otherwise, I think when you get down in the red zone and you have a QB and receivers that you dont't feel you can run anything over the middle with, you will struggle. You can't just try fade routes and draw plays. TDs are scored from up close over the middle. Maybe it's on Canada for not pushing them to get better at that, but I think Etling and this year's WRs were never going to do that well.

Can you imagine Saban ripping Canada on the sidelines?

Agreed. Orgeron is petty. Canada's offense did improve as the season went on, and Orgeron should have gotten over himself and given him another shot with Brennan.

But Orgeron has to make it known, HE'S the head coach. We're gonna do what HE wants. Screw any ideas that the OC has, this is HIS team. He didn't learn shite from Ole Miss.

It’s not fair to judge how good or bad Canada is when O apparently didn’t let him fully implement his schemes or use the personnel he wanted to.
