Her son is actively being offered a shite ton of money to come back to LSU. She is telling the people that have already paid her son that they need to be giving more money. I’m not saying that LSU baseball couldn’t use more money, I’m just telling you why it’s a bad look.
If you take it how any normal person would take it, then no, it's not a bad look.

She is so clearly not saying that Zach Yorke or Trent Carraway needed more money. Like I genuinely cannot imagine how someone would read what she posted and think that.
I’m not saying that she is specifically saying that. But she could have tweeted that LSU should have spent the millions that they had more wisely instead of telling other people that they need to donate millions more.

LSU didn't have the money to spend.
We did not spend millions of dollars on the post-draft transfer portal additions.
You seem to have a lot of info. I don’t so I’m curious. How much did LSU baseball spend on the roster? And how does it compare to the the other 15 SEC teams?

I have no problem w earning money off your name image or likeness at any age. But that isn’t what is happening here.
I do sometimes wonder what some people’s reactions on here would be to WNBA players publicly asking people to donate money to them. It’s very similar. Both sports that lose money every year.

How is her supporting Jay a lack of class? She's a wonderful woman.
She and Mrs Frey absolutely are trying to help the program because it doesn't help their kids since both are likely gone to the draft.

It is no longer college athletics......it is paid players that wear our uniform, period.

quote:My general AD sources went out the window when SW was fired, but I know where his priorities were. You can do the math on the reduction in rev share money we had this past season. It was basically cut in half. I don't have specific dollar amounts (only Jay and his staff do) on NIL.

I do know that Texas, for instance, spent north of $100k to keep a middling reliever out of the draft last year. A guy who was at best an 18th/19th round pick. LSU was not capable of doing that this past year.
Georgia spent a shite ton. Tennessee outbid us for Landon Mack (timing was also brutal with CWS). Reddemann stayed home.
We were at an abject disadvantage last year from a monetary standpoint.

would be in his best interest to come back as he could raise his stock to the top three rounds which doubles or triples his guaranteed money
You don’t understand how the MLB draft works.

When did LSU cut baseball rev share in half? I don’t remember seeing that.

Which is where the majority of the money is, right?

So throw out some numbers. You know almost exactly how much a Texas reliever was paid but don’t know how much any LSU players were paid?

I’m asking you for more details. Just saying that a few schools had more money (not knowing how much more) doesn’t mean much.

Where do you people come from? All of you who are being so mean and disrespectful to Mrs. Milam, please work on your reading comprehension/critical reading skills before you enter a conversation about something you've read and think you understand what it means.
I believe Mrs. Milam is grateful to the LSU Baseball Program and Coach Jay Johnson and is truly trying to help by lending her voice to the fundraising efforts. We should be thanking her for continuing to care about our beloved Tiger Baseball Program even though her son will probably be drafted high enough to go pro. Thank you, Mrs. Milam, and all the other former Tigers and their parents for helping out in this way. Geaux Tigers!

They fixn to try sign Skenes to his for real deal. Maybe he should stipulate that 10mill$ a year be set aside for LSU baseball or a one time 25mill$ petty cash drawer.

I can tell you we missed on a lot of players we were showing interest in. They signed elsewhere and it wasn't because they didn't want to play for LSU and defending champions.
Jay as politely as he could publicly voiced his displeasure with the situation.
It's not inconceivable that Mrs. Milam after knowing Jay for years and him caring for their son as he grew into a man, wants the best for Jay. She showed some support for Jay online.
Do you rantards really believe she needs to go online to ask for money? No good deed goes unpunished.

I don’t doubt that. But let’s say if we took the money that we paid York and Simpson and combined it, could we have gotten any of those players?

Of course he did. He wants as much money as possible and I don’t blame him.

I don’t doubt any of this either. I think Mrs. Milam is probably a great person.

No, I don’t think she was personally asking for money online.
