She said support Jay, not pay her son. Did I miss something?

Milam’s slot value is currently in the 600-800k range in the 6th round which is his current projection. If he falls, it would be much lower. I would think LSU would be close to this and it would be in his best interest to come back as he could raise his stock to the top three rounds which doubles or triples his guaranteed money while getting paid in college. His mom is basically saying baseball needs more money without directly mentioning her son…

Jay can bitch and moan all he wants about not having enough money but the fact of the matter is he did a horrible coaching job this year with the players he did have. They were still plenty talented enough to make the postseason. They weren't even remotely close to being in the hunt.

Not the best look with the way LSU baseball spent their money this year..
We did not spend millions of dollars on the post-draft transfer portal additions.

Preseason #1 to not even making the tournament.
Maybe not the best time to talk shite to the fans.

That's pretty much what she's saying

Someone inside the program is claiming we are falling behind. I believe her in the fact on what happened this past year plus her son is headed to the pros.

I'll take it a step further and say it's a really good post and that I wish we had more player's parents who wanted to help fundraise or bring awareness to the NIL for baseball, or any other sport for that matter.
Ethan Frey's mother has been doing the same as well.

If I had 2.5 million to give, I wouldn’t.
I don’t like the world created, I will be damned if I promote it.
I have no problem w earning money off your name image or likeness at any age. But that isn’t what is happening here.

We missed on players, not because of money, but because of evaluation. It has zero to do with NIL dollars or the willingness for our donors to spend them. We had the second best portal haul in college baseball last year, and one that fans were raving about all off season.
But AI is free so here's what it has to say:
The programs most often mentioned as the top NIL spenders in NCAA baseball are:
LSU Tigers baseball
Texas A&M Aggies baseball
Tennessee Volunteers baseball
Arkansas Razorbacks baseball
Texas Longhorns baseball
Florida Gators baseball
Ole Miss Rebels baseball
Wake Forest Demon Deacons baseball
Oregon Ducks baseball
Vanderbilt Commodores baseball
The biggest baseball-specific NIL powers right now are probably:
LSU Tigers baseball
Texas A&M Aggies baseball
Tennessee Volunteers baseball
Arkansas Razorbacks baseball

Then explain why multiple players we were showing interest in signed with other teams? The guys we signed were not Jay's first options.
I'm not saying that is why we sucked this year. I'm just saying Jay didn't get his first choices, that needs to change.
Some of the pitchers we pursued, Reddemann and Volcho (spelling) were two of the best this year and we couldn't land either. There is nothing wrong with Jay's evaluating. Everyone misses sometimes, but Jay should be able to land at least a couple of his first options.

"Missed on players.....because of evaluation"? Mea culpa if wrong but wasn't LSU's portal class this past season ranked, if not #1, at least in the top 5? A lot of someone else's evaluations were wrong too then. As for Bregman, didn't he, along with a few other former players, put up some money for locker room improvements a few yrs ago? Gausman mabe.

She's been leading the charge on getting more donations for baseball. Frey's mom has done some as well. They aren't asking for their kids (especially in Frey's case), they're legitimately trying to help the program.
