He's the type of player that will show if it was the player that can't handle it or the coach that couldn't teach it. I'm all for players sticking around to get the chance to be better when their intentions are that and to try and help win games.

I’ll take anyone that wants to play for LSU. Let’s see what the new scheme and coaches can do for him.

This is a good thing... he has the one thing our defense was sorely lacking this year and the one thing you cannot coach up, speed.

safety

Isn't that kind of one of the main jobs of a safety?

Going to take a miracle worker at DC to turn him into a decent safety. Seems like he was always two steps behind the play.

Did you watch him though? He was constantly out of position, not wrapping up, talking shite for no apparent reason

Just remember a lot of people including me said Damone Clark didn't belong in the SEC. Then he got coached up by Baker and a light went off. Best LB in the country by end of the year. Now he's starting in the NFL. Coaching can make a difference and we will see next couple of years but we will also be upgrading in talent so if he can't do the job I'm sure the next DB coach will find someone who can.

He’s currently not an NFL prospect , he’s probably got a little NIL money coming in plus all the perks of being an LSU football player. And who knows, the next staff may make him more NFL ready . So yeah, I’d come back too. May have already gotten his undergrad

It’s a good coach he will be an all American

I'd settle in making open field tackles.

If he starts again that would be a sign we have not turned the corner talent wise and won’t compete for anything meaningful . For all of his supporters name one good play he’s made the last 3 years , and not the hustle play in the bama game, I’m talking a play on a ballcarrier, pbu, interception etc.

Kid has spunk. He'll improve with some good coaching.

Because he still has no idea how to stay in his assignment and lane.

I’m glad he’s coming back. He has a chance to contribute to a championship.

This thread is a great example why players should always make big decisions about what’s best for them and their family with just those people and no others in mind. Fans are fickle and most do not actually care about them as people.

Player leaves early for pros. Criticized
Player with high draft position opts out of a meaningless game. Criticized
Player enters portal. Criticized
Player announces return. Criticized

As if we’ve never seen a player improve from one year to the next, and literally win awards for doing so.

Bowl Game announcer made that weak MASH reference about him, but it wasn't as weak as his tackling.

I mean, it’s not really a “weak” reference - the kids actual name is Major Burns, and there was a character in one of the most popular TV shows of all time Maj. Frank Burns commonly referred to as “Major Burns”.

That one hustle play possibly saved the day for LSU and limited them to a field goal. We may not win if not for that effort. That's enough for me to not bash him. That win was historic & gave me much happiness for 1 whole year!
