Richmond is about an hour and a half to two hours away. Charlottesville is about 3 hours, but there was a poster on here yesterday that said there is a basketball tourny down in the tidewater this weekend, so a bunch of coaches are down there supposedly, including Shaka Smart. As much as I would love to see Shaka stay at VCU and continue building that program up, I would love it more if he came to LSU, not that I expect it.

Well, I don't believe he went to the actual tournament. That's not what I meant. I mean he went to the area, because the Portsmouth was going on and there are a lot of coaches in town.
Assuming he talked to Evans because he was in Norfolk, is like assuming he talked to Ed Conroy at Tulane because he was in New Orleans during the Final Four.

I like Evans' "style" from what little I know of him and have seen of him in the media...seems like a good coach.

that analogy only works if what the original poster said isnt true. if it is true (big if) then no its not the same because there is a story coming out that is more than likely too coincidental to not be about LSU when we just flew there.

Why would we hire a coach from the MEAC? It's a shitty conference with shitty teams, no better than the SWAC.

Not at all excited about this prospect. Johnny Jones would be much more appealing than this guy. Hope it's not true but if it is I hope Aleva knows what he's doing and we won't know that for another couple years to guage the hire according to W's/L's

Evans is too silly to even discuss. He would be on the outside looking in for Sun Belt jobs. He probably makes about $125,000.

Not a homerun hire, but certainly not a flop hire IMO....decent hire, would be interesting to see how he does at LSU.
