Evans would be a very solid hire. (not saying he is even a candidate)
Everyone on here is missing the ball.
Look at Norfolk St.'s roster..
LINK
Evans recruits the hell out of NYC.
Why is the Big East so strong?? NYC
What's the best place to recruit for basketball?? NYC
If LSU will ever make it big time in basketball, getting some guys from New York City COULD be a reason

I was overexagerating a little bit because some people can't seem to get it. They think we can just pluck their favorite coach away from their current school because "we are LSU". That only works for football.
I agree we can't at this point.
But I do think we should be able to hire a very good coach and not have to settle for some guy who has toiled at the mid-major level for 10 years, or whatever.

I wanted to comment on this further than just lulz.
No one, not even the basketball team's biggest homers, think LSU is on the Duke/UNC/Kentucky blue blood level. Hell, it's not even on the Ohio State/Florida level of nationally respected powers.
BUT, LSU offers as much, if not more, upside than any other job in the country (I'm speaking of places that aren't already at that elite plateau). There's unlimited resources, in a power conference with growing reputation that could really turn into something special with the right coach.
So if you Joe Alleva, you aren't selling what LSU basketball is, you are selling what LSU basketball could be.

I could be excited for Anthony Evans, if this is the call..there is an high potential ceiling..and he's yet to have LSU resources and facilities to sell his brand from to date.

Chavis coached in the SWAC and went to Tennessee. Also LSU's db coach was a head coach in the SWAC.

Thank You! It's a great style if you love low-scoring games and a team full of guards.
If you are winning consistently, who cares?

+1
If we're going young I'd like to take a chance on Evans, since we're probably not going to get the coach we want anyway. And if we're going with an older coach I would like to go with Pearl since we're rebuilding anyway.
