Since we can only embed 1 link; some other quotes from SECStatCat after breaking down the LSU game.

will this be the week LSU realizes it sucks running OZ and stops featuring it?

I know why it's done and the function of the idea but I'm souring quickly on teams that run duo dive and don't ask their guys to blow the first level off the ball nor eye LBs. Team hat-on-a-hat and not Team let's hope our RB can be superman

Cliff notes: The offensive line is what everyone feared going into the season…..not good.

The OL is, once again, solid in pass protection. They aren't giving up a lot of sacks (though part of that is LSU getting the ball out quickly). Unfortunately, they are, once again, struggling in run blocking.

Now consider this: This OL has 5 different starters from last year's OL...an OL who had 4 starters drafted in the same draft for the first time in school history. What's more likely, LSU has somehow stumbled upon 10 individual offensive linemen who ALL can't run block? OR the OC's approach to the running game is so bad that no offensive line can have success?

There are 10 different players on the OL. Sloan is the constant over the last two seasons. This might be a radical concept, but one might consider that if you've had 16 straight games of little to no success in the running game perhaps you might consider changing the approach to how you are trying to run the ball. Of course, Sloan and BK seem to be under the thought that the 17th time might be the charm

Wouldn't football be more entertaining if we had guys like this calling the games instead of just listening to McElroy and Collinsworth regurgitate the same football cliches every week? And we would all be smarter football fans because of it

You can’t tell Brian Kelly shite. He thinks he is some mentally superior northerner and he proved that when called out Saturday night. His shite isn’t working and instead of changing it he’s going to keep doing the same……ala Les Miles

Damien Lewis, Ed Ingram, Trai Turner, and Adrian Magee were some of the absolute best road graders we have had a guard. Each of them had an attitude and a get off to go lay you out. Idk where our "dawgs" are on the offensive line but we desperately need some of that type of energy. Go hit someone. Stop helping and just get to your assignment and the second level and hit someone. That makes it so much easier on the running backs to read the blocks and make cuts.

Sloan is running BKs playbook. We’ve seen new run wrinkles this season.

The issues seem to be O line consistency and BK throttling the O at times. No OC can develop a rhythm if they are being told to use the slim playsheet this drive.

He was so bad one play that Carter refers to him as (Liam) Shanahan.

It's beginning to come painfully obvious that the zone blocking scheme used in the run game is too difficult for our lineman to perfect. It requires too much thinking & thinking mid play is causing confusion & hesitation on certain blocks. Zone blocking works in the NFL because of the time allowed for practices & film study. It's harder in college with limitations for practice time & player/coach film room time together. Scratch that damn heavy usage of the zone blocking scheme!!!

Davis is a big problem too, but Sloan needs to adjust and is incapable of calling plays that fit this offense.

If they don't make the playoffs this year, Sloan will be gone and probably Davis. Sloan has no business getting his experience at LSU.

It's obvious Kelly wants someone he can easily control and manipulate

No indeed not. It’s one thing to analyze a handful of plays after 20 hours of film review. It’s another thing to do it live.

So it’s obvious the head coach wants say in what’s going on? Man I never thought of that.

Are you trying to be obtuse or do you not understand the difference between what I said and what you said?

Every defense knows he won’t scramble. They don’t have to worry about it, which makes it super easy to lock up our receivers.

The one lineman that jumps out as no good is Weston Davis. Is Carius Curne going to get a look at RT ever?

I would like that. UFC did that for a while. They had the main guys at the desk but every now and then they would go to Din Thomas for another analyst opinion. You could put 3 dudes in a room with one main dude and they could analyze stuff in real time. Then the big booth could go down to the dudes for a play breakdown or pattern they are seeing. That would be fun.

As he has most games. We were really late to the portal when it came to offensive guards
