Congratulations to the Ole Miss Rebels for their night game. Hang the banner.

That is pretty ignorant by abc/espn. Lsu vs bama typically bring the higher ranking of the year in college football, especially when this might be an elimination game.

wanted a night game. eat shite whoever did this

I'll be at the game, but damn if it isn't a great day to lock the TV on ABC for a tripleheader. Pretty much 3 elimination games.

so at some point in the 2nd half it will become a night game

We’re going to outdraw UGA/OM but we get put at 2:30, lol. I guess the complaining about our night games finally caught the ear of Birmingham

Maybe more fans will stay so they don't have to "beat the traffic" to not be home too late.

Miami v ND is that night at 630. LSU v Alabama at 230 is best way to maximize TV ratings. Straight business decision.

That's one hell of a weekend slate. 8 playoff contenders playing each other in 4 games. I kinds dig the afternoon game. It's a bit of a departure from the norm for LSU/Alabama, plus if LSU wins, we get to sit back and watch Ole Miss and UGA without being disgusted. Or ND/Miami, although that game is wholly irrelevant.

I suspect it is because ABC plans on putting the Texas @ LSU game at night the following week and there was probably some desire to avoid the inevitable argument of LSU "favoritism" with that being the 4th primetime home game of the season (Clemson, A&M, Alabama, Texas).
Personally, I don't mind a 2:30 start in November.

I actually think 2:30 allows for the best atmosphere, especially the 2nd half. People aren't rushing to beat the traffic out of the lots. Then of course you have Texas at night the following week.
