I am sure they let him know each time he was disciplined during all three years on campus.

Regardless of one’s opinion about marijuana use, it is against team rules, and he continually put himself before team.

Why does every player need to be a leader?

He is a LT not a QB or even a Center.

That could’ve been a ball boy, for all we know. It was pretty unprofessional of ESPN to throw that out like that.

Weird thing to take a stand on. It is just a catch-all phrase for people that don't know a lot about drugs - it is all just "dope". If we have to be specific I think most people would assume weed or opiates as dope before meth.

When you say dope that implies meth..just say weed

Slang term for Meth is dope. That's all

In my younger years, dope was the slang term for weed. I don’t know how old you are, but calling weed dope is not unreasonable.

I assume you’re talking about Mathieu

I think his own quote was something like “After I failed 10 tests I stopped counting”

That’s why I always find it funny when people rag LSU compliance. The leash for guys like Mathieu & Ryan Perriloux for instance were way longer than what they should have been. LSU does whatever it takes to keep their good players in school. Compliance has worked well with the football team over the years

Not a good look for LSU sources to be dogging former players. If it was that serious they should have kicked him off the team

Getting players in the NFL at the rate LSU does is one of the best recruiting tools. In order for that to continue, NFL teams ask for certain info on players. If you deceive them you would see a drop in players selected. There will be situations where maybe a kid who graduated needed a little push and credibility of our staff in evaluating our players would be a necessity.

No they don’t. It’s more associated with heroin

Who cares you need those types to win. Not everyone has the personality and ability to lead a group.

Are y’all fricking retarded? Our starting LT was suspended for half the season. You don’t think NFL teams thinking about investing in him as a starting OL aren’t gonna ask what the deal was? What would you have them say that leave them with any credibility on players moving forward? Seems like what they said probably painted him in the best light possible given the circumstances.

Teams can deal with smoking weed and being a follower. Just means they need to surround him with good influences. Obviously wasn’t too bad for Washington who just traded their Pro Bowl LT for the pick to take him. But if they’ve got a dude who’s a lazy a-hole troublemaker, they’ve got to be honest about that too. Otherwise, they have no credibility and teams will quit asking them about anybody. You don’t think our coaches’ credibility had anything to do with Clyde winding up in the 1st round?

Soooooo...honesty.

Good for him in admitting his shortcomings. He has the talent. This an EXPENSIVE life lesson for him. I wish him the best.

As for LSU, what should we do? Lie and ruin our credibility. Nope. It is what it is.

Nothing wrong with being a follower.

How many leaders can a huddle handle.

The question is can you play or not?

They've been a hamper more than helper, which is why woodward is mixing things up there. Noticed how this was the first season we CHOSE the games guys like charles were suspended for (due to weed)?

Trey Wingo is a sanctimonious piece of shite. You shouldn’t be surprised. Don’t forget how he treated Tyrann in his interview after being drafted. Like a parent talking to a child. “You know what your responsibilities are now, right?”

It's obviously in reference to his off the field issues, not in the huddle.

Character and truth goes a long way in the professional world. Being completely honest may seem illogical but lying about something will destroy a person’s trust in you for a long time.
