They’ve had more consistent recent success than LSU. Heck, LSU has struggled to beat Alabama in Basketball for years.

There are no "experts" voting in the AP poll. Just different members of the press (see LINK). You used to be able to look up who voted for who, at least for football.
You really think Jerry Carino knows anything about LSU Basketball? LINK

nope, the March Madness Committee doesn't use the silly media polls. They use the NET rankings and a ton of other hard data -- not silly media voters' guesses about who's better than who.
I didn’t say they “use” it. Read it again

By the time conference play starts, we'll be ranked.

This website is awesome. You can click on voters name & see their poll for week 4. You can also click on the team. Here are all of the votes that LSU received & from which pollster. LINK
Baton Rouge's own Brian Holland and Sheldon Mickles have them ranked at 21 and 19. Shoutout to Jesse Newell from KC having the tigers ranked at 13.

So better than 1st,2nd, and 3rd the past three years? Right

media polls are utterly irrelevant. Ignore them.
A number next to your name does help the brand, though. I think we'll be ranked soon enough.

We are right outside the top 25 in the AP and Coaches poll. Both have us ranked #28 on votes. We only play one game against a decent Ohio team this week so if we win I bet we crack the top 25 next week.
It really doesn’t matter though. Let us fly under the radar. We start SEC play with 7 straight ranked opponents. Not too many teams in the country will have a stretch like that. We can be unranked or a #1 seed by the time were thru those games. We’ll see.

Right. A number right would reflect in a strong OOC win or two against a known opponent. Which is going to help when they crunch the seeding numbers come March
This is why everyone thought LSU was underseeded last year. They had zero style points or relevant OOC wins

I just hope to god. They don’t try to screw this team come tournament time. More so on the officiating side. All because the NCAA is out to get Wade.

maybe we have a different definition of success, as well as consistent.
2021 Bama 1st LSU 3rd BAMA 3-0 Lost in Sweet 16 LSU lost in 2nd round
2020 Bama 9th LSU 3rd 1-1 Bama wouldn't have made tourney, LSU would have been a top 6 seed
2019 Bama 10th LSU 1st LSU 2-0 Bama didn't make tourney LSU lost in sweet 16
Auburn 11th
Auburn 2nd
Auburn 4th
LSU has been talked about a good bit about being the most consistently good team in the SEC the last 3 years, and it's continuing this year.

go look at their schedule and you will see

LSU Shafted in Ap top 25
AP is a reshuffle every week based on result of each team. This year there is very little losing right now. I think I counted 8 losses total in the entire top 25 last week. Somebody got to lose a few here and there to get some movement.

Winning will take care of everything. If LSU is undefeated at the end of January, they will be in the top 5.
This LSU team is playing very hard the wins will come

Way too early to care about polls. If our guys keep focused, it will take of itself.

Bring On the disrespect. When we finish in the top 4 of the SEC, a lot of sportswriters are going to be looking stupid not having LSU in the polls.
