And the AP polls means literally nothing.

First of all, the rankings haven't come out yet, but they will in the next few minutes. You are just looking at the updated records of the teams from the week 3 polls. The week 4 poll will come out around noon.

I know it means nothing where they are ranked in these polls, but it's just astonishing to me.
I mean Andy Katz has his Power 36 and has LSU at 35.

I do think people are paying attention to us more though, and if we keep winning, we'll keep rising the polls.

Many AP voters are sportswriters across the country who are completely lazy. They don't watch many ballgames except the marquee matchups. LSU hasn't played in any of those yet....so they aren't really recognized in the ratings. However, people that really hone in on basketball art starting to notice.

Jon Rothstein (maybe one of the best in covering the sport) has LSU in his top 25. ESPN has LSU just outside their "Power 16" at the moment. Garry Parish (CBS Sports) has LSU at 25.

The predictive metrics (BPI and KenPom) like LSU right now (12th in BPI; 17th in KenPom). Those are purely data driven ratings.

The fact that some AP writer for the Teledo Telegram has LSU outside of his top 25 is WHOLLY IRRELEVANT. Keep playing great defense and keep winning. The rest will take care of itself.

Again, the polls havne't come out yet.
If you don't see Duke at #1, then you aren't looking at an updated poll, b/c Duke will be #1 without a doubt.

The preseason poll to Week 1 poll showed me everything I needed to know.

LSU was receiving a few votes in the preseason poll. Then after blowing out their first two opponents, the next poll had LSU with zero votes.

The voters just look to see what everyone else is doing and figure, “oh, I’ll just vote for the same teams you vote for.” It’s all group think.
