With this and Dan Fitzgerald to Kansas, Jay's got his work cut out for him this offseason. You hire good assistants, and they get hired away. But Jay got them here in the first place, I'm sure he's got a good list of replacements.

He will actually have more time to make these hires. I'm sure he has been kicking tires for a while. Tell the new coaches to bring starting pitchers with them

He did a good job hiring those two last offseason, no reason he can't hire good guys to replace them.

I liked Kelly a lot, but hoping they can replace him with an even better upgrade and that is no knock on him! How often does a coach lose both his assistant coaches after his first season at a new school?

It really shows how great a staff Jay assembled in his first year that 2 of them were hired away as head coaches. This is something we'll have to deal with moving forward, but as long as Jay keeps bringing in quality assistants, it'll be a good problem to have.

Glass half full. Jay is bringing in assistants on the cusp of P5 head coaching jobs. Quite the contrast from the previous regime.
