People need to lower their expectations, there’s a reason Vegas always wins. I heard the same thing last year that we would easily beat UCLA and look what happened.

We have a lot of question marks on both sides of the ball. It should be a very good game and hopefully will be able to come out with a win

Didn’t Notre Dame go to OT with Florida St last year and only win by 3?

LSU isn’t ND.

Nope. Just nope. Lost my arse in the last two openers. Not falling for it again.

"LSU isn’t ND."

Indeed. That ND team went on to finish 11-1 and be ranked #5 at the end of the regular season. I'm not sure even the most optimistic Tigers fan realistically expects LSU to achieve that in 2022?

ND led FSU 38-20 at the end of the third quarter, and seemed to be winning comfortably. Ironically it took an injury to FSU's starting QB to spark their comeback. They went up tempo with backup Mackenzie Milton and he led them to OT.

That was on FSU's own field. A neutral site should favour LSU, though perhaps FSU having a tune-up game under their belts might help them. I'd still expect LSU to win by single digits though.

Les was undefeated on home openers until 2017 vs Wisconsin. That is 2005-2016. shite on Les all you want, but not about this.

A tune up game against Hawaii is much more beneficial for a team than a tune up game against Duqesne.
And we won't be playing FSU across the country in their home stadium.

I hate that they get a tune up game and we don't.

Myles gonna light it up.

For the first time in a long time I actually feel like, at the very least, an LSU football team isn't going to look confused and out of position in a season opener. Under Les and O we'd have multiple situations in season openers where the staff cost the team a timeout or we'd have 1/2 of the defense in the wrong play. Or you'd see 2 guys on the OL out of position. A running back missing his blocking assignment, etc.
Les seemed to have that more and more every year, but Ensminger cleaned it up real quick. It did come back some last year under Peetz.

I think this coaching staff is solid, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some early season issues against FSU. It is a completely new coaching staff on both sides except for a line coach with a completely new system on offense. Plus if Brennan is the starter (likely) he may have some rust to shake off in the first quarter.

I just don't think people should be expecting perfection out of the gate and not melt the score board if there are some early issues.

Why is the time TBD? What are they deciding between? Not like anything will change between now and then.

I foresee Florida State tuning up LSU.

Of course, I always want LSU to win.
