Also, Jay needs to come out and tell the public how much of the percentage that he is seeking.
Why would he demand this in the public? This is a negotiation that should take place behind closed doors.

Since the athletic department doesn’t receive public funds, I don’t think the public has a right to know. The athletic department is self sufficient.

Yikes, she reminds me of the principal in Uncle Buck

Let me help you out. With the MEN we have running things now, the only 2 sports that matter nationally are gonna be fully funded.
Neither Kiffin or Wade would've come here without that guarantee.
Baseball bros shouldn't be worried though. From multiple posters on the rant, Johnson has plenty of funding from private donors. It'll be ok.

interesting stuff. how many coaches on payroll for each sport
Not sure. I was pulling from the NCAA Financial Report that gets published by each school every year.
I would expect the Revenue Share amounts by sport to be on the FY2026 reports, but we'll have to wait to see if LSU agrees with that.

We don't have beta male figs (Woodturd, Tate) in charge that wilt to public pressure anymore.
From all accounts LSU has the highest NIL in college baseball. They'll be fine.
Also, I have yet to hear of a power 4 conference that doesn't break down this way:
75% football
15% real basketball
5% dyke basketball
5% ALL of the other minor sports on campus.
I guess it's possible that Duke, UNC, Kansas, or Kentucky may give more revenue share to basketball, but even that's doubtful. Those blue bloods have HEALTHY NIL donors to pay their players. Football needs to get the highest share.

That, and they don't have a TV contract worth peanuts, because statistically speaking, NOBODY watches college baseball on a national level.

If we had any sense in the real world we wouldn't be fussing over money. But we don't have any sense. You would play for the honor of the sport and the college. But money got into the way and we are crazy now. No sense at all. College sports has gone to hell in a handbasket and is a royal mess. Lord knows if common sense will ever come back. I have my doubts!!

5 sec road series (min 2 nights in hotel), probably a tourney in dallas, and 10+ days in omaha....sounds like baseball spends less per player by a huge margin
I mean yeah I think we all knew that considering the basketball team overall spends more money that the baseball team…

So this information can be used against the coaches in recruiting? I can tell when people have never negotiated a thing in their life. Some things you hold close to your vest.
You don't need to know certain things. If other schools are forced to do it (accurately, which I doubt) then make it public. Don't put yourself in an unnecessary bind.

The SEC media rights contract is valued at $3 BILLION. The Men's NCAA Tournament tv contract is valued at $1.1 BILLION...per year! LSU football alone generates $115M in revenue.
The players are a BIG part of helping generate that massive amount of revenue. I hate to break it to you, but this notion that college football and basketball are just fun scholastic extra curriculars activities is beyond absurd and long outdated. They are massive revenue generating entertainment businesses. If you were an integral part of a multi-million/billion dollar generating enterprise would you just work 40 hours a week for the "honor of the job"?
A rock band goes on tour and generates millions in revenues from people wanting to pay to watch them perform, media companies selling albums, merch, etc and no one complains that the band members make millions. Yet, people (collectively) are willing to pay millions to watch college football players perform, TV networks are willing to pay billions for the rights to broadcast the players' performance, and the players who the public is paying to see perform should just do it for honor?

Why on earth do some fans give a shite or worry about this?
Unless you are donating big big money to the university, don’t worry about.

Why would a request for information be downvoted?
Because some of you are absolutely beating the shite out of this. Check all the downvotes. They aren't necessarily disagreeing with you. But the ridiculous amount of attention this is getting from sky-screamers is ridiculous. Take a breath. It will be ok. LSU will make it right with JJ.

Unless you’re on the Board of Directors, the Athletic Director, or the Governor, you have absolutely no friggin right to do anything but bitch and gripe on a message board. Which you’ve already accomplished. So either buy a ticket or don’t, or watch the games or don’t. Those are your rights as a consumer, lmfao. You sound like a Karen, who’s running for President of your HOA.

You sound like the non givers at church who say, show me how the money's spent. Really?? None of it is yours! No one owes you an explanation.

Ok, let all the other universities go first and then we will follow.
Oh and can the OP tell us how much he makes, his SS# and address too? Full disclosure, right?

I agree that baseball deserves a larger cut, possibly at the expense of women's basketball, but Rev Sharing is a small percentage of the grand total anyway. We need to make up for it from the rest of the NIL program.

You are being given the same amount of info as the amount of financial support you give. If you feel you aren’t getting enough info, start giving more money.
