For context, Mac Bingham produced slightly better than Antoine Duplantis’ best season at LSU. Bingham improves this roster, and that’s really all an LSU fan should need to hear.

All this. Many people just look at BA and that really doesn’t tell you all that much. People did the same with Milazzo. Pearson hit in the 240s but with good power #s and a lot of BBs. Milazzo hit 290 with absolutely no power (all hits were singles except 1 double) and not many walks.

He made a great play against Florida and potentially saved the game, but he is not great OF. He improved from freshman to sophomore years, but still had a lot of room for improvement.

I like Pearson. I think he has great upside, and he was damn good last season. But the fact that he made one great play has no bearing on the discussion.
I’d bet Pearson is an everyday starter next season, but thief is correct in that he is NOT an automatic starter. He is also correct in that, if Pearson hits like he did last season, this board will overwhelmingly call for him to be benched…but he won’t.
I do think Pearson is a very good outfielder. He makes the plays he’s supposed to make and he has the speed to get great coverage out there.
