quote:You're right they still do some of the same shite that Miles/Cameron did, they just try to disguise it out of the RPO thinking that the average fan is to dumb to catch on. Lol "Let's tell them we're going to run a wide open attack" which is what the BS was coming out of Ensminger's mouth before the start of the season. But they're not fooling y'all just because you've added some modern concepts somewhat like the hurry up and lining up in a 3, 4 WR set sometimes, but still throw short routes with slant patterns being run mostly. LOL They can't even fool teams running the RPO because teams know by now how much LSU still loves to run the ball, they're looking for Burrow to hand it off. It's the same ole horse with a new saddle. LMAO
This is Miles' offense just ran out of Shotgun based set, same passing tree and power run. If you watch games SE called in 2016 compared to 2018, what is the difference??

Remember Canada? It didn’t help last year!
Why? Because we still couldn’t block...
Need linemen that are big strong athletic and SMART....to do all that
Bama was in our backfield because they knew the plays...
To beat Bama you need an offensive that can recreate itself on a weeks notice...one that evolves and changes as the season progresses....
Ask yourself why our o line is so simple to scout?
Why are our plays so predictable?
It might be because of our “scheme”....but then ask yourself why such a young offensive line always seems to run such simple schemes? Why? Is it because they are not seasoned veterans? Or maybe they are not quick learners?
Maybe it’s not the coaches fault....why did Canada leave? Did he have a hard time teaching his complicated schemes? Why?
What do we have?

I thought Canada did a good job last year.
You don't like scoring 10 points vs Bama but instead enjoying scoring 0 points? Canada had almost 300 yds on Bama.

It's hilarious to me that some fans think any 2nd year coach should be able to beat the greatest coach of all time after he has been in Bama for 11 years building his system. There is not a coach that exists that could do that after only two seasons of recruiting/coaching.

Routinely over promises and under delivers. Basically, the opposite way of making people think you're good at anything.
On the other hand, if you're a con-man, it's par for the course.

Come on man. You know why Canada left.
Canada never got the chance to fully implement his offense. I would've liked to have seen how the current team would look under Matt C's offense. There's no way it could be any worse than what we've got now. I still believe that Orgeron started to meddle with the offense and that's what led to the tension between Canada and O.

2nd year coach
What's ED's record at LSU? If you include his interim, and you guys always seem to do that, then he's more than just a second year coach at LSU. In addition, he was an in-house hire, meaning he didn't just drop onto campus form somewhere else and had to get his feet wet. He literally just moved offices. He was hired LITERALLY so that he could hit the ground running because this was NOT a rebuild.**
Be honest...if you want to include his time as interim (I wouldn't, but than I consider that job wholly different than being the full time head coach) then this week's game against Arkansas will be his 31st game wearing the big boy headset. At what point CAN he be judged...?
**BTW...for those declaring this a rebuild now...who in their right mind would have hired Ed Orgeron to rebuild a Power 5 powerhouse program? What, at all, in his resume suggests he was capable of that? This new move actually begs more questions than it answers, guys.

Besides 2013, last time we had an O that was confident and could score at will was when George W Bush was President. Let that sink in.

its funny how the propaganda machine gives Steve the benefit of the doubt, but the same courtesy wasn't given to Canada last year.
I am not a propaganda machine for this Coach or his staff. I watch a game closely, and see a OL that can't pass block or run block worth a Sh#t. Maybe this new OL coach we hired from the Chargers will be able to recruit better on the OL. Jeff Grimes surely didn't do much during his tenure here. So glad he left to be the OC at (4-5) BYU. Again, I don't care who LSU recruits at QB, RB, WR,and TE because it won't matter if the OL can't get the job done.

“ it’s hilarious to me that some fans think any second-year coach should be able to beat...”
One of the problems with that comment is there are really not many posters suggesting LSU should have beaten Bama only that LSU under the direction of Coach O and Coach E for two games played in Tiger Stadium should’ve been able to score against Bama.
Coach O came to LSU in 2015. He has recruited this area for years. He was is well known in this area. It’s amusing to me that some want to pretend as if he got off the plane from California or Minnesota in 2017 with no knowledge of LSU or Louisiana. He has been coaching at some level and recruiting for LSU for almost 4 years.
By the way, even if you want to do the Bama should be playing in the NFL and there is no college team in the country who can beat them thing, what about being 1-2 against a Florida program which has been struggling for a number of years?

People expect overnight success changing after a decade of the same offense.
There was always going to be speed bumps this year. If the offense still sucks against bama next year, we’ll talk

It is, bascially, the SAME damn offense, running the same DAMN plays. Last year was the outlier. Nothing has changed, otherwise. How long does Coach E. get to claim a mulligan because we are rebuilding, yet running the same stuff for the last TEN YEARS?
