O didn’t couldn’t gamble on an outside OC which would be 3 n 3 years when If he doesn’t win now he wouldn’t be here next year. He has earned a little leash so I hope he moves E back to TE and finds a young offensive mind that fits at LSU.

3 in 3 years?

This is only O's 2nd full season as HC.

O has always known he'd get 3 full seasons. That's why he structured his contract / buyout the way he did.

LSU is winning without a viable offense right now. If you get a new OC, what happens... the offense stinks? It already stinks. They would have been doing the same thing: run, play defense, win field position with ST.

The difference is, with a new OC, there'd at least be hope for next year. As it stands now, LSU is either stuck with Ensminger or starting over, again, in 2019.

how many years in a row can you say this before you cant even believe it yourself?

Last year the narrative was "we will have these OLine pan out, Miles Brennan is Drew Brees reincarnated, and Ensigmer isnt gonna run fly sweeps so all our problems will be solves next year"

That doesn't make sense. When we was hired, one of his explicit tasks was to fix the putrid offense. He said he'd go out and bring in the best offensive mind he could find. We ended up with Ensminger after apparently not even interviewing other candidates. Orgeron knows that if he can't fix the problems on offense, then he's out. Why would he not gamble? If Ensminger fails, and he is currently failing, then he takes Orgeron down with him.

Brossette and Helaire don't strike fear in defenses. It's time to get Chris Curry and Tae Provens more playing time. Let's see what they can offer.
2019 will be the time for John Emery to start from day one.

Let's go JE. Make a commitment to the in-state Tigers and be done with it.

It means that you didn’t just make an account and that perhaps you have more than just spreading a narrative in mind when you post.

That’s not what a certain group on here is spreading. They say if his defense was better, we would have beaten Bama. Lol

People just blindly overlook the fack that our quarterback has only been here for 3 1/2 months with new receivers and learning a new offense. Lack of Oliine play and elite running back also as putting more pressure on the signal caller That’s not yet in rhythm with all of those receivers. I guarantee you the offense will look a lot better next year

Well, who's fricking fault is THAT? We had 2 QB's who were here longer and transferred when the "new" QB came in. What is their excuse? I'll tell you- Coaching. I want to know what in the hell the coaches are teaching these guys, seems we get "top" QB all the time with little to nothing to show for it. I know it is an inexact science, but shite, there is a trend here!

And so many wanted the "senior, Justin MacMillan" to get his shot. Instead, he left. How is he doing over at T.U.?

I did not want McMillian either, but the damn excuse of "QB has not had time" is bullshite. If we didn't constantly see QB issues, then maybe that is valid, but see how other schools are able to bring in a green guy and have success?

Look at Brandon Harris as the prime example- He came in green and looked great due to his talent. Once the staff fricked him all up, he was gun shy and seemed to be overwhelmed with what to do. This is a theme we have seen with Miles and now O and is why we needed a completely mew start and now recycling the same damn coaches like we did.

I am tired of every excuse in the book- He is young, he is not talented enough, he needs time, when a lot of other schools seem to figure that part out much better with way less talent overall.

This is the crux of the issue.

How we, as LSU fans, can be expected to sit back and "wait 'till next year" for the 12th year in a row, while teams like Memphis can put together a powerful offense across 3 DIFFERENT STAFFS is beyond me.

I saw it with Muschamp in Florida, too.

These coaches get in the QB's ear. They tell them not to make mistakes, not to throw interceptions, not to throw into coverage, not to take sacks, etc...

Les Miles used to say, "Let 'er rip!" At the end of his tenure he'd say, "Let's play it safe."

Same thing with O. Just run, play defense, win field position... pass only when absolutely necessary.

Alabama moved on from the "just throw safe" stuff and now looks to score. LSU, once again, got left behind the times.

My thoughts exactly. It is evident that the staff puts way too much in their heads and they overthink everything to the point of shutting down.

Maybe if our head coach hadn’t done such a poor job of picking his first OC, we would be further along in that rebuild you want to talk bout.

It’s interesting to me that 30 games after a coaching change, we are talking rebuild has a reason a 10 win season would be so fantastic.

I agree about the Offensive Line. But can't really agree with the second point.

I think LSU has proven that having elite RBs is not the key to beating Alabama.

It goes beyond what we saw on Saturday. It's 10 years of offensive ineptitude. It's an OC that no other Power 5 school in the nation would even consider hiring, who is running an offense that's ranked 104th.

Chris Curry was highly recruited. Play the guy.
Brossette was a higher rated recruit.
Do you think that the coaches are purposely playing lesser players?

Not many teams beat Bama on the field or in recruiting. Maybe Saban leaves Bama for the Browns. One can certainly hope so.
They can be beaten but not by a team coaching scared. Saban is never leaving Bama. Never. The only thing that will stop him is time.

This is what I don't understand with CEO.

You received a position and pay (buyout) way above your market value, why not swing for the fences?

He hit the lottery and is repeating what the previous coach was canned for, unbelievable. Actually proving people right by saying that any coach could win here.

I was against CEO being hired but said any coach should get minimum of 3 years. Looking like it might be 3/4 years and new staff. If he wants to be here long term...really prove this is his dream job then he needs to cut bait with SE and get a true OC (K. Briles)

Miles was fired in 2016 SPECIFICALLY because he didn't rebuild the offense. We were promised better

We just witnessed Sat night, that EdO isn't rebuilding it either. In fact, its worse. We watched EdO coach only to protect his contract!!!!!!! He no longer gets a pass, because we will end up firing him into the 4th game next year. And go thru thus mess all over again

ok, fine, you didn't expect to win, neither did I.

But what I DIDN'T expect was to gain 94 yards on our first 9 possessions, each ending in a punt and with us being down 22-0, before we gained some yards in garbage time.
