LSU Football & Afternoon Games in Baton Rouge - ESPN

I remember the first LSU afternoon game against Auburn in 1969 in Baton Rouge on ABC. It was a thrilling game which LSU won 21-20 by blocking a Auburn extra point after a late game touchdown to seal the win. To boot a victory against a heisman trophy winner that year at quarterback for the Auburn War Eagle, Tigers, cheats.
Since LSU has caved in to ESPN and all TV types and plays day games now at home I want to add another area of "cave in"
LSU should create a uniform with royal purple jerseys, royal purple pants and royal purple helmets are wear them.
OR DISCONTINUE WEARING PURPLE

First play was a td pass to Andy Hamilton from Mike Hillman

If we keep losing to teams like Troy, don't worry. We'll have plenty of night games.

I was impressed and I am certain it got AU's 'cheatin' attention.

Don't think you understand how this whole thing works. Also solid weird troll attempt.

Or how about we just win and stop worrying about trivial matters....

Hillman actually pitched out to RB Jimmy Gilbert who threw the halfback pass to Hamilton. It was glorious! George Bevan blocked the extra point.

LSU played afternoon games before lights in Tiger Stadium. I would say the first afternoon game was in 1893 or 1894.

Wrong, Hillman pitched to running back, Jimmy Gilbert, who threw td pass to Andy Hamilton.

It was also a rainy day, but the LSU Tigers came to play. One of my top 5 games of all time.

Anything is better than those morning games

I don't sink so. It was a halfback option pass to Andy Hamilton, from Jimmy Gilbert.
I saw it with mine own two eyes, that glorious afternoon in Tiger Stadium.

Was there too. Same seats I just paid a bunch of money for Tradition Fund. Who was the running back for us, second half, rips a 30 yard run and then followed with a 15 harder? I teared up lol.

Probably Allen Shorey. He and Art Cantrelle were small by today's standards, but were quick and determined running backs. Ditto Del Walker and Chris Dantin.
O, I loved LSU football back then!

You are correct. Halfback pass from Gilbert. I was at the game. We played an afternoon game vs. Ole Miss in which they smoked us a few years before this game.
