You continue to make it clear you are not an LSU fan.

There are some things i like watching MC coach and his sets. The guy needs more money to get 2 full classes in a row to make some noise.

Constantly filling holes for a year makes it hard to develop any consistency, but then again, thats all college sports now. it's a mess.

I know you’re happy with this news but those of us with standards are talking. We’ll call you back to the discussion after we end up getting waxed in the last five games of the season.

Here is my order of preference:

1) Fire MM and bring Wade back
2) Keep MM with an increased NIL budget
3) Fire MM and bring in someone other than Wade

Is this reasonable?

I don't think #1 was ever happening so it looks like you are getting #2.

I don't know if I hate this as much as some others but I tend to be positive about LSU athletics, perhaps foolishly so. I think increasing the NIL budget combined with the plans for new facilities signals that LSU is getting serious about men's basketball and if MM underperforms again potential high level coaches will not be reticent to take the LSU job.

why is there are some fans and the AD who are so despite to prove letting Wade go wasn't a mistake that they are willing to eschew all logical thinking towards that end.

This is 100% correct.

It also feels like the AD wants to avoid being in the market for a new coach while Wade is still at McNeese. Wants to avoid it being so obvious that he is the best candidate for the job. Hoping he moves on this year and can get into the market next year and avoid the embarrassment of having fired the best coach available.

This is like the government. Just throw more money at it and it’ll fix it!

Seriously, I think they are doing this to exhaust all options of support for McMahon. The last thing you want is for there to be a narrative that the AD isn’t going to pony up for hoops when you’re doing a coaching search. This is not to say I agree with what LSU is going here entirely, but I can see the angle they are going with.

I get it, I just don't have faith in the current administration to hire someone better than MM not named Will Wade

Two simple questions:

1. Where is this new, significant influx of money coming from?
2. Why hasn't it been there in the 3 years prior?

The support from the everyday fan is at rock bottom. I know, I'm one of the few at the games. You and 2,000 of your friends can come too if you'd like. Tickets start at $3.00 a pop. Is the AD going to parachute a hat down from the rafters along with the hot dogs to take up a collection at the last 4 home games? Did some LSU basketball fan suddenly come into a massive sum of money?

No one felt moved enough to donate tremendous sums of money for three seasons, yet, after the current HC finishes year three with a, likely 45-50+ overall record, that money is just going to come flying in to the same guy?

Nice deflection. What sort of fan would pull for their team to lose when it will not affect the thing they think they want to change? It is a childish way of thinking. I have seen you say you are hoping for LSU to lose multiple times. I cannot recall you ever saying anything positive about LSU. The only conclusion I can come up with is you are not an LSU fan. But maybe you are just irrational.

So completely ignore the only other profitable sport outside of football, where some schools profit tens of millions every year.

Do you work for the government per chance?

We’re not, this is just an excuse so that fans can swallow the stupid decision of keeping him. He’ll continue to lose and set the program back more and more. This is a sick joke

NIL is getting ridiculous and these ADs and schools expecting fans to continue shelling out money left and right to cover their incompetence and selfish players with their hands held out over and over is just pathetic.

They have all ruined college sports, and typical Woodward to try to spend his way out of his mistakes instead of doing what is necessary for long term success and stability.

I do not know but I have to assume there is either someone or a group of people donating to Bayou Traditions specifically for basketball or maybe some general funds in Bayou Traditions being redirected to basketball. It is not athletic department money nor is it directly related to ticket sales.

No idea, I wonder if it was a chicken or egg conundrum for the people directing these funds. Perhaps they thought winning would increase available money but may have figured out that money spent will increase winning which will then cover the money spent and increase available money coming in.

It kind of makes me think that someone or a group decided they would up their game in the NIL arena. I hope they did it with strings of we quickly get expected results or we change coaches very quickly.
