you could hand over the Florida roster to McMahon and they’d probably be .500 in SEC play. He’s not a good coach. We all tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he just doesn’t have it.

Regardless of what you think about Mcmahon there is no way LSU can compete in the SEC with a $1.5 mil budget . Vandy is at $5 mil. We beat them with Reed. Ark is at $10 mil and we beat them . Ky. Auburn, AL, FL $10- 20 mil. We competed with AL and Auburn and Ole Miss and TAM. With the lowest bball budget in the conference.

Where are you getting these numbers? I'd love to see it.

IF they are accurate (which I highly doubt), then it suggests the donors are not donating to the basketball program. That brings about many questions:

1. Why are they not donating? If they believe so much in McMahon why haven't they been giving money over the last 3 years to keep LSU from having the "lowest bball budget in the country"?

2. If they haven't been donating over the last 3 years then WHY the sudden change now? Is it going to be the sub .500 record over 3 years that will give them hope?

3. If there hasn't been a push for increased basketball contribution by the school/AD over the last three years, then why not?

If there was an “incredible talent disparity” then how did LSU play Ole Miss, Bama, and Auburn close down the stretch? How did LSU beat Arkansas?

Are you saying it’s coaching…because you would be absolutely wrong if that’s your take.

Is LSU more talented than those teams? No, but they have the athleticism and scoring to compete most nights….they should have at least 5 wins with elite or even excellent coaching…and would have pulled off an upset or 2 on the way

Who will be funding the increased NIL budget?

Yeah, it won't be me, I would prefer to back football and baseball which I enjoy a ton more than MBB. What is the softball team's NIL budget this season?

I get what your saying but justify to me how paying the current players more money will get better results, it won’t so this is basically saying start all over with better (paid) players with more talent.

I’ve said this many times on the board. Money comes with a promising future and McMahon has been nothing short of a nightmare since day one. We literally do nothing well

NIL spending amount or lack thereof didn't blow an 11-point lead at home to Ole Miss and allow a 13-0 run, that's coaching ability pure and simple

LSU has been in the top half of basketball recruiting in the SEC the last two seasons yet they’re right there at the bottom with South Carolina. It’s a coaching problem.

Matt McMahon is the equivalent of New Coke, it won't get better no matter how much more money you put into it

I wonder how Kim has a team ranked top5 in the country? If the men’s NIl funds are the lowest in the league. I wonder what’s the women’s lol .

LSU will continue to be the laughing stock of the conference in basketball.

LSU + South Carolina had the least NIL money in the offseason. Both are at the bottom of the SEC standings.

Listen, I get whey your saying

but if there is a direct relationship between NIL and Success, and there appears to be one, I would try that route first before firing the coach

Because, that isn’t going away.

Take the best coach in the country and give him the worst NIL money in the conference and he isn’t winning the conference.

If you think across the board LSU has as much talent as those other teams that were mentioned then yeah you don't know much about basketball. We don't even have an SEC level starting PG. That is the most important part that is missing in addition to maturity. If more NIL $$ allows him to buy better players then maybe they win a few of those games. If they don't then he will be fired and the next coach will walk into a program that has made a bigger commitment to basketball.

1) basketball recruiting is not football recruiting. Some basketball classes take 2-3 HS players or less depending on need.

2) if what Shea says about us being one of the lowest spenders in the SEC, pretty amazing we've gotten the top players we have, isn't it?

I really want to enjoy college basketball again. I may have to pick another team to follow for a while.

Not it did not , but if you do not believe it’s a problem Ole Miss and State have NIL budgets of $5M and LSU $2M you are clueless.

Even if McMahon is fired, we aren’t getting a quality coach with that budget. And yes, Will Wade will demand much more NIL were he to accept.

Blaming the coach alone is a total cop out.
