Gooden at that size will only be able to play passing downs.

Gooden will be able to hold up. Think, they can’t double team both him and either McKinley/Breaux/Mitchell/Any of the freshman. As long as you keep one of the DTs with size next to him, he will shine.

I'm excited about the improvement on the DLine. That's what we really need on Defense. Pressure and stopping the run really improves the whole defense

Blake Baker lit up talking about Gooden. Was cool to see.

Haven’t heard anything about Sydir Mitchell.

It means he’s explosive and has a high motor at that weight. He’s not just some big heavy body that gets stuffed on double teams and winded after 2 snaps.

it just makes me wonder how our interior OL will hold up against a bigger, stronger DT with his same skill set.

There are none.

Having a 270 lb interior defensive lineman to compliment the 300+ lb lineman that will be lining up next to him can be an absolute weapon when shooting gaps and penetrating the defensive line.

I actually think our defensive line is going to give people fits this year. I also look for a whole different offense. The threat of the deep ball is going to open up a bunch of things in the intermediate passing game and the run game which is going to pay off in the long run for Nuss and the boys upfront.

Carius Curne jumped 2x yesterday, and once today, and BK sent him running. Called TO after the one he did today after jumps yesterday, and said send him indoors to do laps

Gooden is winning a majority of them with enough of a data set at this point. Shows me there is a problem with IOL continuity.
I hope your wrong but that's me.

I got PTSD from watching Mubenga and Chester line up side by side

There will unquestionably be an issue with OL continuity to begin the season. The only question is how bad it will be. Daniels had to run for his life week 1 in Kelly’s first year. We even had some communication issues to begin last year, with a vet OL.

A little bit different circumstances there.

It was the very first game for a new coaching staff. Plus, LSU had a true freshman at LT, a sophomore at LG, a sophomore at Center who had never played Center, a vet RG and guy (Wire) who hadn't contributed much in his time at LSU and was never a tackle.

This year you have 3 guys who have been at LSU at least two seasons coached by the same offensive staff (Adams, Davis, Chester) and two multi-year power conf. starters in Moore and Thompson. I'm not saying the OL will be great right out of the gate, but they are starting from a much better spot than the 2022 OL
