What a glorious read this thread was. So much melting over a contract extension for a coach that could be fired at any time no matter how long his contract is.

Lol Alexander proves once again that as long as ppl keep giving their money away winning doesn’t matter. 9 wins a year gives LSU fans exactly what they want, just enough losses to make excuses for and saying next year is our year.

They should reduce his buyout simultaneously.

Yup. If that buyout didn't get restructured.....yeesh.

So going back on the idea of "saving on the head coach?"

Similar here.

7 for $40m. Buyout after year 1 is $30m, then $20m, $15m, $12m, $10m

Notice any recruiting updates lately? Looks like you were right, we are no longer 7th.

and we know we lose Hampton. Might lose parker too. so, lets say we get Lee and Williams - we still finish bare minimum 3rd in the SEC. Right now we are 4th... and this is a "historic" year for Louisiana talent.

and no buy out

people said this shite last time, but in what reality do you live into thing that coaches do not get buyout protection in big time college football?

It would be more embarrassing if they dont give him a buyout

In what reality does a coach with a losing record get hired at LSU?

O is not the norm.

Again, this is dumb because if o goes out and has another top 10 season than he probably will need a bigger bump in pay and a more legit buyout.

Not that O could really duplicate this at many other schools.

If he gets 7 for 70 I will stop watching LSU football until Alleva is replaced

Wonder how this will affect Aranda’s mindset and personal plan/goals for his next couple of years

Joe Alleva is tied to Ed Orgeron - don't be surprised if Alleva extends as long as he gets permission to. The longer O is difficult to remove - the longer Alleva gets to be here.

Looks like Alleva woke up and realized that a generous #6 ranking after a 3 loss regular season might be all he gets.
