Extended it only if you make the buyout realistic and comparable

Looks like Alleva woke up and realized that a generous #6 ranking after a 3 loss regular season might be all he gets.

"Coaching stability," answered Surtain's father Patrick Surtain when asked in various media interviews why his son chose Alabama over LSU.

He had a bad year one. Let go his OC after 1 season. Ed created that, not the length of his contract.

bullshite. If a coach is bad enough to be fired, most schools will fire him regardless if his contract is for 1 more year or 20 more years.

This “But muh recruiting” answer for contract extensions is ridiculous. These players know if a coach is performing well enough not to be fired or not. The length of their contract has nothing to do with it.

Clearly you know nothing about recruiting.

Every school keeps their HC under long term contract. It's to create a sense of stability for recruiting.

Except every big time program that has fired a coach lately did so while that coach was under a long contract.

If you think a recruit accounts for the amount left on a coaches contract before choosing a school, you are an idiot.

I can see it “I really like what this program is doing but this program over here has a coach with a longer contract even though they lost 7 games last year”

Miles basically got fired in 2015 and he brought in the #2 class.

The length of time on his current contract is not yet to the point where it would have a negative impact on recruiting.

ETA: After next season something would need to be done.

Recruits have said a certain school is telling them Orgeron will not be there much longer.

You’re the idiot. Every school is extending their coaches contracts, Odom at Missouri, Muschamp in each of the last two years at SC, the examples go on and on. LSU is doing nothing different than what everyone else is. The melt is hilarious, though.

Another one proving he knows the cube root of zero about recruiting.

Are you one of the dumb fricks who thinks he only has one year left? If not, you do a good job of impersonating them.
