At $2500 a plate that is 1000 people. I have never been to the Supper Club but can they fit 1000 people in there?

Some of this number might be pledges like for the two years and not necessarily amount for checks written that night. Either way, I like it. Thanks to those donors.

The $2500 a plate were the cheap seats. One group from Lake Charles donated $750K. There were several $100K donations.
It wasn't like 1000 people donated $2500 each. I'd guess there were maybe 100-150 people there.
The math I heard was $3M+.
Wade is a popular guy and funny as hell. I never followed LSU basketball in the past but The General is easy to support..

You're gonna have a rough go of it on this board when Wade wrecks shite over the next decade+ all the way to the Sweet 16 before being sent home.

Just don't run away like the little bitch you've been in the past when positive Wade news broke.
I plan to be here, and have no doubt he's about to lead LSU to elite status. Just like his first 5 years on the job showed we were well on our way to that.
But hey, you're an LSU fan, so you want him to succeed. Right?
If memory serves though you're racist, oops.that didn't come out right, sorry. You just don't like basketball. Which begs the question, why do you post in basketball threads?
I think college baseball is an absolute waste of time, but you won't see me posting in those threads.
I will however, respond to ridiculous BS posts about college baseball that bleed over into the basketball or general LSU threads.

Speaking of…how do you reckon I’m racist? Does not liking shooty hoops make one a racist?

It's true. I had a few of their 5k cocktails first before I started my donations.

Relax Monica, I said oops it was a mistake.
The question I really want answered is despite all this Wade hate spewed from your mouth, you ARE hoping to be wrong because you're a HUGE LSU fan, right?????
You have however stated multiple times you don't like basketball. Why do you take time to post here then?
I don't like college baseball, but I'm not ANYWHERE on the baseball threads giggling like a little bitch about the shitty season they just had, and why baseball will always receive the scraps in profit share after the 2 sports that matter.
Just curious about your motive.

The Pear making it tough on coaches venting about being underfunded. Cause he gonna go out and get his. Now they know it can be done but they also know they just ain't as good at it.

Never saw that happening I'll be honest, I'll eat my crow but good to have him back.

This is easy.
His presence here the last time seriously tarnished LSU. His affiliation was a stain on my alma mater.
And now, for reasons that mystify clear headed people everywhere, the administration of the program that was so badly tarnished by the stain of Will Wade in the past has taken him back.
There are plenty of college basketball coaches…almost all of whom were never recorded on an FBI tape, weren’t publicly insubordinate to their bosses, and some of whom have actually managed to get past the Sweet 16.
He is a cheat, pure and simple, and not a particularly good one at that. His return has exposed the worst in his fans (who appear to be more fans of him than fans of the program).
LSU can and should to better. LSU should have better standards. The enthusiasm and expectations of his fans far outweighs anything he has ever actually delivered.
And worse yet, he appears to be a cancer who makes LSU fans unnecessarily worse and potentially threatens sports that actually are good. He doesn’t deserve a second chance.
As for the racism accusation, the way to deal with that is to delete it…not to say “oops it was a twenty character long mistake” right after you typed it.

Can you identify one violation by Will Wade that the NCAA proved?
Posted on 6/27/26 at 7:26 pm to Recoveringcajun
Bless your heart. It's PRECIOUS how you believe our 2019 national champion football team was run cleanly, and those players WERE NOT paid in violation of NCAA rules.
Or do you understand they were and just believe it's OK to cheat as long as you don't get caught?? Which if that's the case, would make you a HYPOCRITE.

Why are u on here talking about basketball? If you don’t like Wade then just hate. Fans want a winning program- people(boosters) are giving $$ because they believe in him. He is personable, he relates to players, he signed five 5*s. The Coach before him set a record for being the most losing coach in a four year span in the history of the SEC. I don’t know you and the racist name calling is a little extreme but why are you here. Basketball season tickets have already sold more than they ever have already, that’s why he’s back. His superiors he didn’t talk to are all gone and part of that is because they didn’t have his back. That created the stain you speak of but other coaches did the same but were supported by their admin, hell Self won the championship that year & Coach K won with Zion that Self and Wade were outbid by. You’re a Wade hater, don’t go away mad just GO AWAY!

Not this a-hole again. He was heavy in the “Wade the cheat is never coming back” crowd. He disappeared and was probably in shambles after Wade was rehired. I was hoping he would just go away. And the racist claims are spot on. He keeps saying why are we giving money to bouncy ball and shootey ball. He is not a basketball fan, just a hater. So ready for Wade to start kicking arse.
