….last night at Will Wade’s get together at the Supper Club last night with many big time basketball boosters in attendance.

One dinner….2.5 million for recruiting! Deal with it America!

GEAUX TIGERS!

PS I guess hiring Will Wade does make a difference!

It’s the Will Wade effect. The guy knows how to get not only a team, but the fans and support system to fully buy in. His first go around here, his first press conference, he pretty much had the entire fanbase gushing about what he could do. Even if all our players are eligible for this season, I believe we still have 3 roster spots left?

I cannot wait to see The General back on the sidelines. The entire perspective on our basketball program shifted in the span of a couple of hours, once we hired him back.

Reports of these numbers are almost always inflated (high or low) to support whatever agenda the reporter has.

That said, it's funny to see reports that Wade generated $2.5M in one dinner (which presumably isn't the entire amount for the entire roster) juxtaposed with the "if Matt only had money" reports of spring 2025 where it was reported Matt only had $1.5M - $3M.

Even some of our esteemed Rant insiders reported Matt only had a few bucks to work with:

Yes. The top schools are spending between $5m and $9m. LSU is likely in the $1m -$1.5m range, agree? Maybe at the bottom of that range.

So did LSU suddenly get a whole new batch of wealthy people who like basketball?

Did the Supper Club seafood tower loosen the pockets of otherwise stubborn boosters that were otherwise locked at the former staff's recruiting dinners at the Union cafeteria?

Was the February 2025 report just BS propaganda pushed by the former AD to justify keeping the worst LSU basketball coach in 50+ years?

Or maybe the former HC was a bad coach and even worse fundraiser whose abysmal record reflected that, as opposed to an "avalanche of unavoidable, unfortunate, events that were simply too much to overcome"?

Big time. Wade gets it. He knows how the game is played and what it takes to be successful.

I think the last guy probably didn’t raise half of that in the last four dismal, miserable seasons.

I’m so excited for basketball again

I was there. It happened. He went through the roster player by player and told recruiting stories. The guy has been all over the globe in the last 3 months. It will take all season to learn how to pronounce the names.

Did he say anything concerning the eligibility of the foreign players? Did he talk about Yam Madar?

TIA

Wade is a monster when it comes to work and efficiency. He’s equivalent to Jay Johnson in that regard but more fire. In fact Lane is like this too. We got young hungry coaches who are smart 2026-2027 could be a start to a new golden age.
