The number between his and yours is the real number.
It's 600 miles. Traveling at 65mph puts you at 9.2 hrs without stops. Now add boarding and a fuel stop and you are at 10 hours, best case scenario.

A bus fuel stop adds at least 30 minutes because everyone needs to get off to refuel and they scatter at the truck stop fricking around. Once you corral everyone you blew at least a half hour.

Try at least 8 1/2 hours with no stops.

No doubt jay is not happy about that. Probably threw off his monday routine and practice

This is the correct answer, but they’d have a trooper escort and would indeed not likely have traffic.
Where would this trooper escort come from?

Obviously not a strong student in geography

Don’t they have a mandatory off day after a weekend series before they practice again?

They have to take one day a week off so it would have had to be today or Wednesday.

CJJ not just canceling games cause the rain... but now he's canceling his weekly pressers...
what the hell did rain do to him as a child to cause such trauma?

We have 2 pages of debating how far away Nashville is. Slow news day.

Tuscaloosa, Meridian and Laurel MS are usually classified as city. Heck I got in a traffic jam in Fluker westbound one time. It happens

I traveled for many years due to work and believe me, commercial airlines are not a dependable mode of travel.
They did not fly commercial. They chartered.

Yes, because finding busses to carry a party of about 50 (along with all of the equipment they bring along) 8 hours ONE-WAY, on a moment's notice, is a piece of cake.
I am sure you are an expert traveler and have learned all of the secrets to success, but you are ONE person...and none of what you have experienced can translate to a group of 50

OMG, did they miss classes on Monday?

I've driven it many times, 7.5 to 8 hours.

There only one way to settle this raging debate.
School bus race from Nashville to LSU. Cannonball Run style.
Each competitor will be turned loose on the Vanderbilt campus with $250 in gas money, a road map, and a slim jim to liberate a school bus of his choice.
