On this day 77 years ago, allied forces stormed the shores of a hapless french beach and forever changed the course of human history. Out-manned and out-gunned, these brave freedom fighters stared death in the face as they trudged through the rain and fog to charge a relentless foe that held the high ground. Today, LSU baseball finds itself staring defeat in the face with little hope of advancing further into enemy territory. But, if our ancestors were able to find a way to steal victory from the jaws of defeat on the sands of Omaha beach that fateful June day, maybe we too can find a way to eventually reach the forbidden sands of Omaha, Nebraska.

This part reminded me of Coach Boone talking to the Titans at Gettysburg.

??? Ok. I’m not much of a complainer on things like this but I think it’s a little ridiculous to be comparing our terrible baseball team who almost lost to a D4 school last night to a bunch of guys sprinting full speed into a hail of bullets in the name of a better world

How many times are you going to post that pic?

There are men in that pic that probably died with in seconds of that pic being taken defending the free world. It’s a sullen and reverent event.

But sure dude, it’s super funny to photoshop a race car driver in it.

The lack of respect people have is astounding

The OP is stupid too.

My grandfather was a paratrooper there that day and helped secure the victory. He lived to tell about it even though he very rarely talked about it.

How is a person supposed to make it to 5 pm on a Sunday without drinking too much to miss the game. Plus we've got another right after. Gonna be a man vs nature kind of day.

Storming the beaches was an incredibly brave thing, but they were neither outmanned nor outgunned. They probably had 5 to 1 advantages in each.
