Yes. So 90% should go to football & basketball, the 2 sports that make money
Thats fine, but baseball is still getting screwed based on your own data.

There’s this little thing called Title IX. You can’t scrap women’s sports without an equal reduction in the number mail athletes.

Title IX is, at best, a hopelessly misguided “policy”. It is unjust inasmuch as men and women are not interchangeable. Therefore, men’s sports are much different than women’s sports, so-called.

It’s hard to describe the look on his face and the tone of his voice when he spoke about revenue sharing and NIL. We were told at that luncheon that money to the Coaches Committee could no longer be used like it used to for the players. Everything had to go through the clearinghouse. Coach J was adamant, he needed the revenue sharing to match that of the Top 5 in the SEC.
I know people don't want to believe you, but you're right. I'm hopeful Verge has or will work to correct this for next year.

FWIW, Tennessee apportioned their rev share similarly to the way LSU did. They even took money that was earmarked for Landon Mack and gave it to Women's Basketball.
And then their coach left.

When a man repeats himself 8-10X, you better listen. He made it quite clear that things needed to change. We all understood that day that he would likely leave if things didn’t change.

I dont think Jay would leave because there really isn't another place for him to go that is going to give him the advantages that LSU has. With that said, you still need to be bending over backwards for a man that has put together 2 title teams in 4 years. Give him what he needs and more and more fans will show up every year and LSU will continue to be one of 8 colleges featured on espn in June.

People who don’t appreciate college baseball are philistines and their opinions should be disregarded.
I wonder if Lyn is coming back this season… I need to Pucker Up

Is there any mandated relationship between the rev share % and the NIL % a player can get? I admit that I don’t follow all of this closely and don’t really know anything about it.
What I am asking is, if a player demanded $3 million per year, is there anything that stops the school from paying them $10 as a rev share and $2,999,990 in NIL? If not, it seems the amount of rev share is not really relevant as much as the NIL value.
On another note, if this is supposed to be based on sharing of revenue, it makes sense to me to allocate the funds based on the percentage of revenue (or loss) each sport generates. That is, in my opinion, the fairest way to divide the funds.

Jay works extremely hard at recruiting. It's very frustrating for him to put out that effort only to get outbid for a player. Jay knows he can compete for almost any player if he can offer at least an equal bid.

Well…. 21 million watched the basketball national title game, 2.7 million watched lsu vs coastal in the finals.that was an 11% decrease from the previous year. It’s would seem that basketball is more popular by that measurement. 66,200 watched it live in the Alamodome. A little more than 23,000 saw the baseball finals. So about 3x’s as many saw basketball to baseball.

That's 99.9% of the country that watches ZERO boring assed college baseball.
If it's so great, why isn't it on TV all the time like the 2 major college sports????

I’m at the first pitch banquet. They sold 106 tables. Former players like Gausman, Tre, Tommy are here. A lot of the older guys from the 80’s and 90’s here too.I bet they raise close to $500K tonight for NIL. It’s pretty amazing the amount of support the baseball program gets.

Uncultured swine. It’s currently the purest form of America’s pastime.
