Just throwing this up against the wall
I haven't been really able to keep up with all the SEC/Pro Player chatter. What would be the ramifications if LSU left the SEC? The NCAA has seemed to be a dog that has lost its bite in the last few years and the I'm not sure the SEC rules supersede the state laws. Also, how would it effect the other sports and not just football.
downvote away, lol

SO you want to be more like Notre Dame? Maybe you want to rehire Kelly, too?

Smartest thing LSU did was abstain from voting on the penalties the SEC can levy.
That gives them a degree of separation from any damages filed against them for not abiding by a TRO or Injunction.
Other 15 schools handed Sankey and the SEC the rope to hang himself, but their fingerprints are on it.

LSU would be blackballed. No major program would schedule them
They can't command a lucrative media rights deal.
There would be an immediate hit to revenue that would bankrupt the athletic department.
No conference would want us either.

Yes, you're going to get downvoted because LSU will be hurt more than helped in this situation. Contrary to belief, they're not going to demand a big media contract either because they're too small market. Would be suicide to go indie.

I don’t understand why LSU is getting into an unnecessary battle, you have a good coach and an improved roster. Why???

I don’t understand why LSU is getting into an unnecessary battle,
LSU isn’t doing anything. The athletes filed the suit. LSU is positioning themselves very well.
FWIW I think the SEC will lose this. Or if they don’t it’s going to have some serious ramifications on Chambliss at ole miss.

To be fair the media is portrayed lsu as the bad guy

Louisiana population 4.6M
Catholics in America: 70M
Give me an example of a public state university “doing well” as an independent.

You think those are the only LSU fans?

Watching this from afar is quite entertaining, as you are correct L$U is walking toward its own independence. Going against the organization you are a member and not finding an acceptable solution leads to unexpected and usually undesired consequences.
You can hang your hat on whatever you choose, but when it gets confirmed, your coach was instigating this, it could be a fun watch. I hope it doesn't occur and this reporting is incorrect. The lawyer in TX looks to be a one-person firm, so it should be fun watching him deal with all of the lawyers he will be up against.
The sad part is that the entire thing could have been solved years ago, but the "leadership" of the NCAA was not real bright.

PAC 12 is looking for schools to join. They currently have 9.

Not sure how true, but what I would be afraid of.
Out of "spite" no other major schools would schedule us.

The SEC will move on and probably not lose significant revenue. LSU would be in a very tough spot.
