Chaos typically ensues when coon asses get involved (Orgeron, Landry, etc). There’s a reason no civilization wanted the Cajuns along the Atlantic seaboard until they got to the uninhabitable lands of South Louisiana.

This is the same as "ESPN hates LSU" to me. We're in the dumps right now but it's just a cycle. They can get this right.

Do you think Jimmy Sexton is begging all of his guys to take the LSU job?

I think Jimmy is in the business of making money at the end of the day.

But LSU is not paying what they owe. You can't count money when LSU fires you for going 34-14 (that aint that bad of a record) and then they refuse to pay you what's in the contract.

I agree with you. I just am not as worried about the national media reporting the shite show. We all know how bad it is and divorces are usually ugly.

Hopefully by 12/15 or 12/22 this is over with.

Now if they frick up the hire

It seems his idea of upfront smaller lump sum is going from 54 million over 6 years to 48 lump.

At a 4% discount rate it would equate to about $48 million. That's a low discount rate, but even 6% would only lower the lump sum to $45M.

The bigger question is how much is his release to seek other opportunities worth? He would value that at zero if he thinks he will never work again, so he wants what he is owed.

So, you think the Gov. wanting LSU to fire a terrible coach is a bad thing?

Hell with it. If we’re going down let’s bring them all down with us. All out war on BK!

If we had something on BK, do you really think he files this lawsuit?

Honestly yes. I think he’s more likely to try to bring the university down if they have something on him but he isn’t quite dead to rights. It’s going to be interesting to see how this develops because right now it looks like a nasty divorce from the outside when you look at it without emotion

I supported the firing but pay the man what you owe him. Wipe your hands clean and start over. Tainting the brand will make it harder to find a good coach.

LSU IS 100% TO BLAME FOR THIS DISASTER

PAY THE MONEY AND MOVE ON

We owe him 800k

By December 2026 we’ll owe him 11 million, December 2027 10 million.

We are not refusing payment. We offered a settlement worth 29.2 million more than he is currently owed in lieu of payments he’s won’t finish collecting until he is 70 years old

Somehow LSU turned Brian Kelly into the victim here, and for the last 3-4 years everybody told you what a d bag BK was. Now he looks like the good guy.

It’s too fricking late

Unless there is actual cause for firing, as in BK did something immoral, they need to honor the fricking deal they made and move on

frick Brian Kelly but I can’t fault him for wanting every goddamn penny he’s owed. I’d do the same

He didn’t rob anyone blind. We were not blind. Eyes were wide open when we OFFERED him a guaranteed contract

Negotiating what? The contract says you owe him $54 million. You aren't getting out of that.

It's crazy people don't get that. The only negotiation is how and when it's paid out. Kelly indicated he would negotiate - that's what he meant.

IF (very big if) LSU can get out of paying Brian Kelly $54 million dollars then F**k the media. Actually f**k the media anyways.

What does this mean?

LSU simply needs to make better deals. Not honoring the one they made is a bad look and undoubtedly will affect who wants to coach here.
