Highest rated ESPN for the year and it surpassed the viewership of the Alabama/A&M game on CBS.
Georgia/Tennessee with a 6.7 and 13.06mil viewers led the way last week.

CBS when they look at the numbers compared to the DH they chose earlier this year..

Saturday Night in Death Valley really is must-see TV.

Back to the day/night DH on the Bama/LSU weekend.

Surprised total viewers were that low. Guess the rest of the country doesn't care that much if it's not an undefeated top 5 matchup.

No two teams have played more OT games. LSU vs. Bama literally created the Primetime SEC Game. Not good enough for CBS tho.
Good riddance.

Good riddance.

The article indicates "LSU’s upset of Alabama delivered ESPN’s largest regular season college football audience in years with 7.6 million"
Also from what I understand these TV ratings don't take into account streaming.

World Series was on too.

And was going on at the same time as the last game of the World Series

The LSU game was also up against Game 6 of the World Series.

And World Series was being played as well

To be fair, going into the year when CBS was choosing the weekend for their double header, the LSU/Bama didn’t look like as big of a matchup as it ended up being.

World Series game 6 was the same night. And yeah, maybe not that many people outside of Louisiana and Alabama actually give a shite.

I’ve had an endless number of people in Oklahoma tell me “what a game! Watched the whole thing”
This week

Yeah, the closing game, plus the possibility of fans within those two states of the Astros, as well as ND-Clemson. It would have done similar numbers otherwise, LSU-Alabama seems more of a National game, while Georgia-Tennessee, regional.

That is impressive considering what it was up against. I don't know if network vs cable is as much of a factor anymore, but a fair number of people here were talking about streaming LSU while watching the World Series.
There were very few decent games in the 3:30 time slot. So you watched Georgia/Tenn or what? Penn State/Indiana? Oregon/Colorado?

And ULL was playing at that time

I don't know how TV ratings work, but I guess this doesn't take into account how long people actually watched.
People would have tended to watch LSU/Bama beginning to end, while Tenn/GA was effectively over early.
