Greg Sankey Is going to argue that LSU and its coaches have not exhibited institutional control of their sports programs including football and basketball.

Again on what grounds? Lack of institutional control is a real thing and there has to be a pattern of wrongdoing that it is attached to as a rider. A joke during an interview doesn't even come close to hitting that standard.

South Carolina is rostering a player in that suit (as I was just informed a short while ago on the MSB)

Unless I’m mistaken, aren’t there rules about certain players not counting against the 105 rule.

I could have sworn there is actually one or two more slots still available…..

I hope you’re right. I don’t know what will happen, but I was just responding to someone who asked “how” the SEC could suspend Kiffin or have us been ineligible for the CFP.

What im saying is peopke shouldn't be shocked that all this was a huge bluff before things got really out of hand.

The bluff was to do exactly this. Compromise stuff at the SEC/university/state level then let the players continue the fight.

If it isnt that, then as some other posters said in here...scorched Earth and things apparently went past the tipping point sometime yesterday even though you have LSU and State entities saying nothing in public.

They vote to expel us on Thursday but offer a suspended sentence of sorts if we agree to certain sanctions, including Kiffin suspension, fines and CFP ineligibility for a year.

On what grounds?

the Baton Rouge lawsuit that specifically restrains the SEC and Sankey is still pending. The TRO being granted didn't end that lawsuit, and LSU filling its roster didn't either.

Embarrassing and now there is permanent damage between the university and the conference. This cannot be repaired.

If you think this will cause the SEC to withdraw their suit OR to cancel the Thursday boat, you haven't been following along.

This was a smart maneuver by the LSU athletic department. Essentially terminates every plausible legal argument the SEC has. All that's left is hubris, and that's enough to fight wars over.

Sending a nice “frick you”’ to the players, since they are fricked.

LSU is going to have to curb stomp opponents and play everything by the book.

You can’t get caught in a close game with officiating deciding the game like WMU vs MICH.

but they still want a ruling on their request for a declaratory judgment on how they have a right to enforce their own rules.
Good, I hope they get it so LSU can ask them why they’re still allowing so many ineligible players to remain active under court orders without severely punishing the offending schools.

I sure hope so. I thought it would cool off after we didn’t roster Wright and Harris last Friday.

It won't be when the players sue his arse in federal court and the universities fire him for having to pay the damages

The LA judge may still have something to say about this. LSU can point to the threats as reason for the exclusion and the judge can hold the league in contemPt

It just seems like such a small, passive thing to do after the SEC has been raging over this lol
