It’s not over at all. They want a ruling that they can enforce their rules. It’s not moot at all. Maybe the exigent circumstances have been diminished.

Nah. Kiffin will win the PR battle in the end. He supported the athlete and has the game day mic. Early victory lap is the day, Kiffin will win the long term

Nah it’s over. They don’t need the court to do anything now because we rolled over. Case will be dismissed. Watch what happens.

Yeah thats where I am at too. This is the compromise.
Now court will still play out with the players more than likely (thats where the NCAA/SEC/etc eventually get their asses handed to them

I feel like this was coordinated and LSU was going to do it anyway. I think Kiffin and LSU wanted to make a statement these players were wronged and the federal intervention is needed in NCAA. Kiffin never had intention to roster these guys. So basically they just clowned the SEC which makes it even better because Sankey should've been fired 10 years ago. I hope he gets canned by the end of this season.

the emergency request for a TRO may be over but they still want a ruling on their request for a declaratory judgment on how they have a right to enforce their own rules.

How would they stop us from being in the CFP? And on what grounds for Kiffin? That's basically the same as kicking us out. At that point move forward and let them do what they do. We know we will get an injunction for him to coach any games in Louisiana.

Correct its the compromise because then things would start getting really squirrely really fast betweem alot of very rich individuals and corporations

They vote to expel us on Thursday but offer a suspended sentence of sorts if we agree to certain sanctions, including Kiffin suspension, fines and CFP ineligibility for a year.
Only way to fight that is in court, and we just set a precedent that if we sue them they’ll expel us for real.
It’s a smart strategy. They may not have a good chance of ultimately winning in court, but they make the consequences of losing so high for LSU that’s it’s not worth risking it.

If they push for a judgment, the court could deny it. They won’t take that risk because they don’t need the DJ now. This was the test case and even the threat of expulsion and loss of revenue to the member was enough to enforce the rule. Overwhelmingly likely outcome is the federal case is dismissed either voluntarily or by LSU’s motion that is not seriously opposed. This is over. I’m telling you. Watch what happens.

Greg Sankey Is going to argue that LSU and its coaches have not exhibited institutional control of their sports programs including football and basketball.
I believe he will proceed with arguments against CLK and CWW.
I don’t believe there are any real merits but simply subjective arguments and only the appearance of impropriety.

I hope you’re right. I don’t know what will happen, but I was just responding to someone who asked “how” the SEC could suspend Kiffin or have us been ineligible for the CFP.
