You're not keeping both Cade and Omar next year if you bring in another catcher which they most surely will do for at least a defensive proven catcher. They're absolutely not going to hope Serna and Bide develop good gloves next year. They will take the chance on 1 not 2. If both want to stay after they get another defensive catcher...sure, stay. I'm guessing one of these guys is gone next year unless they're okay with a position change or potentially sitting behind another catcher.

It’s more than the portal. The injuries have been a huge issue, especially right now. But the vets other than DC just haven’t gotten it done. Too many have struggled or, as far as pitching, become unplayable.

Based on how big each player is and how the transfer portal works. Very unlikely you're keeping both if you bring in another catcher. That signals to them there's no guarantees so why would they stay at LSU when they can get a guarantee in the portal? Seems pretty simple. I'd love to have both back but I don't see it happening. Players want guarantees, play time, and Bide will be a junior next year. It's his money year.
