I guess we'll have to wait and see until the end, but sitting here now, who would you want to lead the team? DJ or Waters? Waters is the better scorer -- and definitely has the better step back shot -- but DJ seems to make everyone else better.

Got it at -9.5 when we were up 10. Seemed reasonable and as soon as I hit submit BC went on their 2nd half run. Sometimes I truly think I’m living in someone’s gambling addiction recovery simulation from the future.

First true away game can be tough. To play such a ahitty 2nd half and still find a W is huge.
Thomas just put this team on his back.

Nevermind that it is cold as frick in Boston right now.

This is me anytime I think about day trading. If I just inverse my moves I would be a wealthy a-hole!

Gritty Road W against a solid defense.
Keep stringing them together.

Thomas is the best true PG here since Waters.

Waters wasn’t a true PG. He was a scoring guard. CJ was also a scoring guard.

I’d say Dedan is the best true PG probably since the 1980s. Maybe you could argue since Randy Livingston but we never had a fully healthy Livingston.

Curious to know why you don’t think he was a “true PG?” He totally controlled many games when he was at LSU. He just was able to score as well. Controlling the game is what great PGs do.

His career numbers 15/6/3 are virtually identical to Thomas’s season stats to date. The only difference is Waters was a better defender

Really good win despite poor 2nd half and when losing lead late and trailing by 5 with minute to go.

That was fun to watch. GEAUX Tigers

A loss there would’ve been devastating. That’s a bad team we beat. Any momentum built up leading into this one would’ve been blown up. Good on them for finding a way but this team cannot take any days off. We all had “here we go again” vibes watching the end of this one, and good to see we have some maturity to gut out one.

They seemed to be rolling until Nwoko sat with two fouls,
pretty much controlled OT.

Looking forward to Sunday to see how they stack up against a legit team on the road.

I don't think it would have been devastating. BC may be bad but they were on fire when they went on their run, nailing 3's, hitting almost everything they threw up and being aggressive to the rim. Meanwhile, we weren't hitting threes and open looks. It happens.

Sometimes the other team is playing above their heads while your team is struggling.

Sometimes you have "gut out" a win as you said. Bravo.

"Devastating" may be a little strong. But it would have been a really bad loss. The reason is because this OOC schedule is really weak and LSU can't afford to lose more than 1 or 2 games in it if they want to give themselves a reasonable margin for error in SEC play. If LSU can split the next two games (Texas Tech and SMU), and finish 12-1 in non-conf. play they will be in a spot where they can absorb several losses in SEC play (8, 9, 10?) and still have resume in consideration for a NCAAT berth. Had they lost to BC, even though it was on the road and LSU didn't play well, that would be less of the case.

That's the downside of having a weak non-conf. schedule. You almost have to win them all as opposed to a team like Auburn who plays: Houston, Oregon, Michigan, St. John's, NC State, Arizona, Purdue. They can lose 3-4 of those games and be ok.
