Would not shock me if we rushed for 3 or 4 TDs this week. And, I still expect to score 50.

I think we see our first 40/50 yard run this week

Cause LSU fans have to have something to complain about.

The last ten years - “LSU needs to pass thdball more”

Now - “LSU needs to run the ball more”.

There isn’t really any sky screaming.

But we haven’t shown the ability to consistently move the ball on the ground.

That’s a concern if we get into a game where JB or the receivers have an off day.

Most of us would just like to see that we aren’t one dimensional

All but one of those rushing touchdowns were against cupcakes. Don’t toot the rushing horn just yet. Better defenses will shut the run down until our OL can put together some semblance of run blocking.

everyone else in the top 10 has also only played cupcakes, and LSU is still leading the stat line. Sooooo your point is moot.

Not sure I'd call Ga Southern a cupcake. They led Minnesota with 13 seconds in the 4th quarter last week.

The same Minnesota that needed a 4th quarter comeback to beat South Dakota State? And double overtime to take down Fresno? Oh my goodness...what a powerhouse...

As I was saying...cupcakes...

Am I concerned about other teams’ rushing game? No. This isn’t a ‘who has the best rushing attack” thread. It’s a thread discussing our weaknesses. So my point is very real, as it is a concern that we are having trouble getting a running game going, and the fact that all but one of our rushing TDs have come against much less talented teams, in essence padding our rushing stats.

LSU needs to run the ball better, not necessarily more.

ETA - using redzone rushing TDs to measure the effectiveness of the running game is asinine by the way.

if we can get our YPC to 4.5 I'll be 100% convinced we win 12 plus games.

in the SEC you have to beable to run the ball to win games. right now we are not great at running the ball. thats doesnt mean im not excited and happy to see our offense, i just acceot we can get even more out of it with a competent rushing attack.

This is fair and it's a good point, slack. To get to where this team wants to be, we really need to keep improving in a lot of areas. I love the way the schedule is set up this year to allow the team to steadily improve before we get into the really big games. Verge did a phenomenal job.

I believe the point is that the offense is doing just fine in RZ and 3rd down offense, so there's no need to panic over YPC just yet.

We've been able to run the ball when necessary.

Imagine Derrick Dillon playing in front of jamar Chase. The offense could still be good, wouldn’t it?

You don’t have to run or pass more. Just get the best guys in there

Right. You're the dude that claimed calling Joe Burrow a Top-5 QB was crazy. You're a football moron. LOL!

5.8 against Texas

The objective of offense is to score points and if we go undefeated and win the SEC while not having exactly the same amount of rushes as passes then who is really going to give a shite? You can't just try to run the ball for the sake of running the ball if the other team can't stop the pass. That would be dumb. If you're gashing the frick out of a team with the pass then why stop doing that until they adjust to it? Mike Leach said it best when he said the 50/50 argument is 50% stupid. You do what the defense is allowing you to do and if that happens to be running the ball and they can't stop it then do that. You can't just stop doing something that works for the sake of having the same amount of runs as passes. It's fricking retarded.

Calling Joe a top 5 QB before he was a top 5 QB was crazy. I stand by that sentiment.

Your position was emotionally driven, and so far, you've been right. I'm happy you were right, but I still have no respect for your football knowledge. You weren't smart, you were lucky.

You were comparing him to Danny Etling last year. Now that was crazy. How are you going to tag this dude with that take in your back pocket?

Depth of knowledge. I've watched film on Spread/RPO QBs for years. Burrow is the best I've seen for years.

Damn good chance that Burrow will break the all-time single season record for completion percentage this year. Surgically accurate.

You are indeed a football moron. Chirp on!

Because he was less efficient than Danny Etling through 8 or so games. You can make excuses for that, but those are the facts. I wasn't comparing their abilities, to my knowledge, simply their numbers.

Be honest - has this start exceeded your wildest expectations of Burrow? This is an outlier for everyone except Buckeye Jeaux.

What did Burrow show you last year that gave you this impression?
