I wish he'd shut up and stop meddling but a lot of the boosters for LSU are the same ones that helped fund his campaign
If he blocks the hiring of the guy they want, he's committing political suicide (he probably already has because he won't shut his mouth)

Why would they have concern? If it’s above board?
Jesus some of you have the nerve to call yourselves “small government” fans too.

Almost all of the LABI guys funded waguespack originally. They got on the Landry bandwagon after it was clear he was going to win. I think Landry still holds a grudge.

Someone just posted that Woodward has a $6 mil buyout. How funny would it be if TAF paid for Kelly’s and bought the new coach, but told Landry the school, I.e. “taxpayers” would have to pay Woody’s?

I thought your argument was they were paying it? So are they not?

Quote the rest of the post and actually comprehend the context, you fricking dolt.

Landry said today if he can get reassurance that it won't under any circumstances fall on the taxpayers, than he doesn't care about the salary
So he wants “reassurances” that an athletic department which is entirely self-funded - one of only two athletic departments in the entire fricking country to have operated without subsidies for the past 20 years, and the only self-sufficient athletic department in the state of Louisiana today - will remain self-sufficient?

I’m sure LSU will have to pay Woodward buyout? Not sure your of your point?

Convincing a delusional man he is delusional is no easy feat

Well, for starters TAF would generally foot the bill. Not LSU.
Maybe that will help you finally understand, but I doubt it.

And then he’ll claim victory, I imagine.

Basically. He's grandstanding trying to convince people that how contracts are written at every school in America isn't the correct process and instead endangers citizens
LSU will get whoever the boosters can fund. The AG can't veto a hire, the clause that in emergency situations (I.E. University shutdowns) the money comes from the taxpayers is legally required to be there. The only thing the AG can do is demand that this language become as drastic as the example given, and not just say 'if boosters dry up, it's the state's liability"
The boosters are going have the control of the hire, not Landry
But he needs to shut up

quote:That's what im thinking. If me and a handful of other donors are the ones funding this, i'd tell these clowns to kick rocks or better yet, bring rocks to fill in these man sized potholes on these LA freeways, Mr Governor.
The people actually putting up the money will tell Landry and the AG to go frick themselves
I'm pretty convinced that the candidates at the very top of any coaching list will likely avoid this situation entirely. Who would want to deal with assclowns like this when it's optional

Is Liz also now going to review the contracts for the now next LSU President, LSU Provost, Athletic Director, Medical School Chancellor, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, Dean of Graduate School, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Dean of the College of Humanities & Social Sciences, Dean of the Law School, and Head Football coach?
LSU has a ton of openings right now and that leads to a lot of instability.

That’s a whole lot of tax payer funded contract work she’s about to dish out!
