I guess I’m just really confused, cause up until like 5 minutes ago we were all on the same page that less government interference was preferable to more government interference because the government is a bunch of incompetent frick ups?
Are we not doing that any more?

No state funds are used to fund LSU sports. Frick Governor Landry and his Laughyette Cabal. He seems to be doing everything he can to bring LSU Football down to ULL's level.

I’m thinking of buying some land in Wyoming and just following rodeo and the bills
I honestly hate Louisiana

The LSU football coach is not tax payer funded and has nothing to do with state government.
Not true. The football coach is in fact the highest paid state employee in Louisiana.

Is it too late to bring BK back?

Who’s not paid a single cent by the state.
Like I told the other guy, don’t be fricking dumb.

Funny you should say that. As I noted in this thread, ULL’s athletic department actually does cost the taxpayers $16.5 million per year (nearly twice as much as Brian Kelly’s buyout).

Is this the twilight zone?

portion of the salary was state funded at one time.
I think the base salary, like $400k is paid by LSU directly to the individual listed as the head coach. The big money is paid by the donors and that goes to whatever LLC or the like the coach wants to create to take those funds.

The best part of all of this is the taxpayers are going to pay more for the AG to contract this out to a firm than they are for Kelly’s buyout.

The people actually putting up the money will tell Landry and the AG to go frick themselves.
And Landy will listen.

Why do they have to announce everything? LOL, you can review the shite out of it without announcing it to the world.

Correct. This is why the AG should be involved in reviewing the contract. Reviewing the document isn’t a bad thing and I have no clue why anyone would have a problem with this.

It’s all about posturing and politics. I wish they would just be quiet. Why do they have to keep throwing gas on the fire? LOL

All of it is paid by the athletic department.
Some of that goes directly to the coach and some goes to the LLC as you noted.
There’s no delineation of the portion funded by “boosters” vs. funded by the athletic department directly. TAF transfers like $30 million in football contributions to the athletic department each year, but how that money gets earmarked is between TAF and LSU.
None of this matters because LSU football has $100m in revenue and $50m in expenses.

What is funny? Seriously?
We got to this point by lack of transparency. LSU is a state institution. The coaches work for LSU. I want the State to perform oversight of its institutions and employees.

You’ll see what’s funny Saturday morning on Gameday. But you are right. This is not funny for us.
